Our Prediction: Delhi Daredevils to win, 2.00 Bet on Delhi Daredevils to win for Real Money
Undoubtedly, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils are up against each other in what is to go down as a mouthwatering fixture. Both teams have had their ups and downs, but look good on paper and have registered amazing performances against one of the title favorites, Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Rohit Sharma’s strategy of opening the innings against RCB worked for the Mumbai Indians. However, after losing Patel to Richardson, the responsibility fell on Rayudu to build a partnership with Rohit Sharma. His 31 off 23 balls kept the scoreboard ticking while Jos Butler once again came to the rescue with a well-made 28 from 14 balls.
Against Lions, Rohit, Pollard, Hardik Pandya and Jos Buttler failed to build the foundation; they posted a 144-run target thanks to Patel’s 34 off 29 and contributions by Rayudu, Krunal Pandya and Southee. Despite McClenaghan’s brilliant 4-21 and a good show by Bumrah and Krunal Pandya, they lost the match by 3 wickets.
The batting line-up collapse has become a regular routine for the team and they will need to pull up their socks to do better; bowlers like Harbhajan Singh and Hardik Pandya have not had much success but can prove to be match-winners provided the batsmen give them a fighting chance with better totals to defend.
Amit Mishra ceased the day as he ended up with figures of 4-11 to demolish the Kings XI batting line-up; his fantastic spell provided regular wickets and along with support from Jayant Yadav, the young spinner and speedsters Zaheer Khan and Chris Morris, the Daredevils restricted the opponents to a lowly 111.
Quinton de Kock came out all guns blazing to start the chase solidly against another strong opponent, the Royal Challengers Bangalore by scoring 108 of 51 balls, an innings which proved to be a match-winner against a tough opposition.
In the match against KKR, the batting line-up succumbed to a superior bowling attack and they could muster only 98 runs batting first; the experienced Zaheer Khan was helpless with a dismal batting performance and there was nothing the bowlers could do to save the game.
However, on home turf, they have proven to be a strong team and can definitely do well in the upcoming game down south; the batting line-up mainly consists of youngsters like Mayank Agarwal, Shreyas Iyer, Karun Nair, Samson, and Quinton de Kock but they can be fierce on the field when situation demands.
As simple as it looks, this fixture will take several turns on its course to the last ball. However, we think that with Delhi Daredevils will triumph not only because its recent form but because it is playing on home turf which suits the Daredevils best.
