CS vs NK Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Dec 20, 2019

Another day and another washout - rain hasn't been too kind on the tournament so far. While we have seen superbly contested matches in the Super Smash, a couple were washed out due to rain. Central Districts have won both their matches and will be up against Northern Knights, who are yet to get off the mark in the tournament. The match between the two sides is to be played at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Friday, December 20th. While Central Stags won't be to worried about their immediate future in their tournament, a loss for Northern Knights would make it very difficult for them. Considering that two vital points are at stake for both the sides, we expect a nail-biting encounter between two teams.

CS vs NK Team Previews

Central Districts

With eight points to their name, Central Districts have arguably been the best side in the tournament. They are placed at the second spot, right behind Otago Volts, and will have a chance to move to the top of the ladder in this upcoming fixture.

In the two matches they have played so far, Central Stags have been phenomenal. They defeated Northern Knights in the opening match of the tournament by a mammoth margin of 120 runs and then edged Wellington Firebirds in the subsequent fixture.

Against Firebirds, Central Districts' batting came out all guns blazing as Dane Cleaver and Christian Leopard put together a brilliant 54-run partnership for the second wicket. However, it was the innings of Tom Bruce that proved to be the deciding factor as he smashed 56 runs off 34 deliveries to take the team's total of 183, which at one time appeared to more like 170.

Northern Knights

Exactly opposite to Central Stags, the Knights have gotten off to a worst possible start in the tournament. They have lost both of their opening games and are languishing at the bottom of the ladder with a remarkably poor net run-rate of -4.075.

Northern Knights are coming off an embarrasing defeat at the hands of Otago Volts. Chasing a total of tall order, Northern Districts fell like a pack of a cards as they eventually lost the match by 43 runs.

While their batting was pretty poor, to say the least, their bowlers certainly put up a brilliant effort, especially in the death overs. They pulled things back to restrict Stags to a sub-200 total as they gave away just 25 runs on the last 28 deliveries. Their batsmen, however, failed to take advantage of that as the Knights eventually lost the match by a significant margin.

CS vs NK Betting Tips

Northern District have failed to do anything of substance in the tournament so far. On the other hand, Central Stags have arguably been the best side of the competition and they will be looking to rise to the top of the ladder. Considering the two sides on paper, the Stags are a better balanced side and have plenty of experience available at their disposal. They also have the momentum and for that as well as the other reasons mentioned above, they are our pick to emerge on top in the upcoming encounter.
