Our Prediction: Delhi Daredevils to win, 1.85 Bet on Delhi Daredevils to win for Real Money
The Daredevils put up a tremendous show defeating Gujarat Lions in the last game by 8 wickets and they currently stand in the 2nd position with 10 points from 7 games; they will take on Supergiants, who are placed 6th with only 4 points after 8 outings, on 5th May at Delhi. The Supergiants have suffered two consecutive defeats and will look to change their fortunes with a much-needed win here; on the other hand, Daredevils have accelerated their campaign after registering two straight victories against the stronger teams. Both sides will try to come out all guns blazing on Thursday and it needs to be seen which team can keep a cool head above its shoulders to emerge victorious.
The hard-hitting Lions were restricted by the Daredevils bowlers with Nadeem taking 2-23 and others providing regular breakthroughs; with 150-run target to chase, Quinton de Kock and Rishabh Pant put up a superb 115-run opening stand to provide momentum while Samson and Duminy ensured to cross the finish line by the 18th over and win by 8 wickets. While Quinton scored 46 runs, Pant posted a well-crafted 69 off 40 deliveries; the batting line-up has exhibited its strength to help win matches and they have done well as a unit till now.
In the game against Kolkata, Karun Nair, Sam Billings and Carlos Brathwaite came out all guns blazing to help post 186 runs on board batting first; while Nair scored 68 off 50, Billings posted a well-made half century. Carlos scored a quick fire 34 from just 11 balls and came back in the 2nd innings to claim 3-47 to help restrict the opposition. Zaheer Khan not only took 3 wickets but also contained the run-flow while Morris and Mishra took a wicket each to help win the match by 27 runs.
They have exhibited their talent and good strategy-making skills, which have catapulted them to the 2nd spot; Supergiants will not be taken lightly by this pack of youngsters, who will go all out to win.
They are going through a challenging time, failing to convert the last two games into victories; while the bowlers let them down in the match against Gujarat Lions, being unable to defend a challenging 195 runs, against Mumbai Indians the batsmen couldn’t go past 159, which became a little difficult to defend in the end. Saurabh Tiwary, Rahane and Smith have been doing well for the team but now with Smith’s injury, they will need to turn to others for support.
Dinda and Ravichandran Ashwin were the lone wicket-takers against Mumbai but they too gave away easy runs; Smith’s brilliant 101 off just 54 went in vain against Lions as Morkel, Dinda and Perera were hit all across the park and the opposition snatched away victory in the end. Although Dinda and Perera took 2 wickets each and Bhatia contributed with one dismissal, Supergiants lost the game by 3 wickets in a nail-biting finish.
They do have the resources but injury issues and some weaknesses in the bowling department will have to be overcome.
Delhi has proven to be a formidable team to reckon with in their recent encounters and looking at Supergiants’ overall performance we feel that the hosts, Delhi Daredevils, are better placed to continue winning here.
