Our Prediction: to win, N/A Bet on to win for Real Money
Their third straight loss led to the end of their CLT20 campaign and now the Dolphins face table toppers of Group A, KKR on 29th Sep at Hyderabad, which will give them another opportunity to redeem themselves and head back home with something to cheer about. KKR has already qualified for the semi-final stage and currently have 12 points from 3 matches played; the team is exuberant with its run so far and continues to emerge as a strong contender for the title. Though it is a dead rubber, the Dolphins will be determined to put up a strong fight and display their skills one last time this season.
Frylinck’s heroic 63 off 27 balls and a 3-wicket haul giving away just 22 runs couldn’t save the day for his team as the Dolphins lost the match against Lahore Lions by 16 runs; this loss brings in their exit from the tournament and they will now fight for redemption against KKR on Monday. Frylicnk’s peak performance and all-rounder skills gave the team immense hope for survival but the rest of the batting line-up couldn’t give the required support. Delport and Abbott took a wicket each to help him restrict the opponents to 164 runs; however, except for Morne and Vandiar, nobody else could share the burden of the chase along with Frylinck. While the batsmen failed to perform against the spinners, they also lacked team strategy to build strong partnerships and the determination to cross the hurdles. Despite their ousting from the league, the players will be hopeful to step up and display their talent so as to return home with their heads held high.
Sunil Narine continues to spin his magic and squash the hopes of the opposing batsmen; along with youngsters like Kuldeep Yadav, who claimed 3-24 against Scorchers in the last match, the West Indies bowler never ceases to surprise his team mates and the KKR fans. He was astounding against the Scorchers as he took 4 wickets giving away only 31 runs, thereby causing a complete demolition of the Scorchers’ batting line-up with help from the fielding unit. Pathan and Chawla are also performing well as seen in the previous games and Kallis can throw in a few surprises with his spin bowling too. On the batting front, Utthappa and Gambhir are in good nick and have been posting strong partnerships from the beginning of the series; Suryakumar Yadav also looks in good shape as he posted a valiant 43 off 19 deliveries to take the team safely home against the Scorchers. The team is enthusiastic about its hopes this season and they pack a strong punch, no matter what the strengths of their opponents are.
The upcoming match will have no bearing on KKR’s position on the table neither will it change the fortunes of the Dolphins, who have already been eliminated from the championship. In spite of the odds against them, we are sure to see the Dolphins come out all guns blazing to score a win here; however, KKR looks strongly placed to continue with their winning momentum.
