ENGW vs AUSW Match Prediction - Jul 28, 2019

Another match, another massive win for the Kangaroos - such has been the story of this year's Women's Ashes. The Aussies have been completely dominating in their tour of England, and this trend continued in the first T20I match of the series as well where Australian women thrashed English women by a fat margin of 93 runs. England women will have their last chance to save the series in the next match which is to be played on Sunday, 28th July at The 1st Central County Ground, Hove, Brighton. England have already lost the Ashes and will be looking to redeem their lost pride by winning the remaining two matches. Australia, on the other hand, may test their bench strength but are still expected to come with all guns blazing. After a rather one-sided affair in the opening game, we expect a hard-fought contest this time around.

ENGW vs AUSW Team Previews

England Women

A long series such as the Ashes is not only physically fatiguing but can also fatigue a team mentally, especially after the kind of drubbing England has received over the course of last month. They have been outplayed, outclassed, and outwitted in all the departments of the game and the result has been rather one-sided.

The tiredness was telling for English skipper Heather Knight as she admitted after the conclusion of last game. Sarah Taylor, their star wicket-keeper has already opted for rest which has rendered their batting lineup even more fragile, as if it wasn't already.

In their previous match, their batting and bowling faltered big time, but that has been the case for them right through the series. Both their openers, Danielle Wyatt and Amy Jones, were dismissed for a duck each and will need to put up strong performances for England to put up a challenging total on the board.

Australia Women

Despite winning the ODI series and the one-off test match quite comprehensively, the Aussies haven't taken their foot off the gas pedal yet. They were at their absolute best in the opening T20I of the series as they wreaked havoc first on English bowling attack and then dismantled their batting lineup to hand them a massive defeat.

Meg Lanning scored a match-winning century for them which played a vital role in taking their score to 226. Lanning contributed with 133 runs out of those and consumed just 63 deliveries. Alongside her, Beth Mooney played a beautifully compiled knock of 54 runs and is likely to play a key role on Sunday as well. With the likes of Alyssa Healy and Elysse Perry already present in the side and Mooney and Lanning in fine form, their batting lineup looks invincible.

Even though the Aussies are likely to rotate a couple of their players, possibly bowlers, they are still expected to field a strong, first string side on Sunday. As seen in the last game, they have plenty of options as far as bowlers are concerned - all of whom can be pretty effective with the ball. The Aussies will be looking to get another victory and inch closer to a white-wash as they did in the ODI series.

ENGW vs AUSW Betting Tips

The pressure of chasing down huge total got to the nerves of the hosts as they succumbed to yet another defeat in the tournament. Despite some fight from their middle order, they ended up 93 runs short of the target, which speaks volumes about the dominance of the Australians in the first match. England would need something magical from their seniors to turn things around from where, which in all probability seems to be unlikely. Australia, on the other hand, seem to be cruising at the moment and will be tough to manage. Considering the form of the two sides, and their lineups on paper, the Aussie women, are once again expected to prove to be too hot to handle to the hosts.
