Our Prediction: to win, N/A Bet on to win for Real Money
A little late on the tips today, so this will be for the live betting crowd.
One of the most known rivalries in Cricket would unfold once again on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Birmingham when India takes on Pakistan. This game is a dead rubber as far as its effect on standings is concerned, but India-Pakistan game can never be considered dead rubber. The craze of this match is evident from the fact that the tickets of this game were sold even before the final. Pakistan has never lost to India in a Champions Trophy game and would be looking to end their tour on high whereas Indians would be looking to change this fact and reach the semis with momentum on their side. Regardless of it being a dead rubber, it is expected to be a crunch game just as Indo-Pak games have always been.
With four clinical victories in this tournament (including practice games) so far, almost nothing has gone wrong for Indians. Opening was a bit of concern before the beginning of main event, but now their openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have put on two century stands. Dinesh Karthick has been in tremendous touch and has looked settled in the middle order. Virat Kohli hasn’t done well in the main event, but he looked good on both the occasions. With finishers like Raina and Dhoni, scoring at brisk pace can never be a problem for this Indian team. Their bowlers have performed well with Jadeja being pick of the bowlers. The Indians would be difficult to beat not only in this match, but also in the upcoming matches.
This ICC even hasn’t panned out nicely for Pakistan. Pakistan lost both of its games, against West Indies and South Africa. Pakistan has one of the best bowling departments in the world and their bowlers have delivered up till now. It’s their batting that has struggled and the fact that they haven’t passed 200 even once. Misbah Ul Haq has played two good innings and Nasir Jamshed has got starts too. Nasis Jamshed falls in the category of Saeed Anwar who always enjoyed batting against India and nothing is different with Jamshed. The role of their quick bowlers would be really important as they’d be expected to remove a couple of Indian batsmen in first few overs. Pakistan is a very unpredictable side and this unpredictability makes them a real tough opponent, especially with the bowling attack they have.
Whenever there is an India-Pakistan game, a close contest is always on the cards. It is expected to be a thrilling game yet again. Indians have excellent batting lineup and to counter that Pakistan have the bowling lineup that has the ability to dismiss any batsmen. There would be plenty of little contests between the game and the contest between Indian batting and Pakistan’s bowling being the biggest and maybe the decisive one. Considering form and overall lineup, I think India would just edge Pakistan out in a close encounter.
Winner: India, 1.54 @ Bovada
Pakistan’s batting has underperformed and that has largely been due to poor show by their openers. Their opening pair hasn’t got going since the beginning of Champions Trophy. On the contrary, Indian openers have done really well by amassing two century stands in two matches. Once again, Indian openers are expected to score quicker than Pakistan’s and I think India would outscore Pakistan in first 15 Overs.
