JT vs TKR Match Prediction - Sep 14, 2019

Jamaica Tallawahs' struggle continued in the tournament as the Tallawahs slumped to yet another defeat, this time against St Lucia Zouks. Jamaica Tallawahs have produced some brilliant individual innings in the batting department and it will be surprising for many to see them languishing at the bottom of the table. They'll have another opportunity go to rise at the ladder to have a chance of breaking into the top half of the table when they meet Trinbago Knight Riders in their upcoming fixture. The match between the two sides will be played on 14th Septemeber at Kingston.

JT vs TKR Team Previews

Jamaica Tallawahs

With third consecutive defeat in three matches, the Tallawahs will be gutted to be at the bottom of the table, especially after having some of the batting stalwarts available in their batting. They are currently at the bottom of the points table with zero points to their name and a net run-rate of -1.266.

In their last match, a lot was dependent on Chris Gayle, but he perished on his first delivery of the match, without troubling the scorers. Glenn Phillips did pretty well to hold the innings with his 34-ball 58, but barring Rovman Powell, none of the other batsmen were able to stick around. The lack of impetus towards the end of their innings meant that they fell short of the total they were aiming at by at least twenty runs.

Their bowlers needed to bowl tightly in the earlier overs, but Andre Fletcher and Rahkeem Cornwall had other ideas. The duo batted St. Lucia Zouks out of the match with a splendid 111-run stand for the first wicket, before Cornwall was dismissed. Tallawahs tried to claw back into the game with four wickets thereafter, but it proved to be too little too late.

Jamaica Tallawahs Playing 11

Chris Gayle, GD Phillips, CAK Walton, Rovman Powell, George Worker, Derval Green, Jerome Taylor, Ramaal Lewis, Javelle Glen, Oshane Thomas, Zahir Khan.

Trinbago Knight Riders

Having won all of their first three matches of the tournament, Trinbago Knight Riders are currently placed on the second spot at the ladder, behind only Guyana Amazon Warriors, that too on net run-rate. They have six points to their name with a net run-rate of 0.886 and another win here will take them to the top of the table.

Trinbago Knight Riders are coming into this match on the back of a long break which would certainly do a world of good, especially considering that they had a pretty jam-packed schedule in the early part of the tournament.

In their previous encounter, both their bowlers as well as the batsmen fired to hand St Lucia Zouks a massive defeat. Bowling first, although none of their bowlers was a standout performer, their bowling unit, on the whole, did pretty well. They restricted the Zouks to a manageable total of 167 which they chased pretty well at the end. Denesh Ramdin and Lendl Simmons were terrific with the bat as they scored 50 off 38 and 63 off 39 respectively. The Knight Riders eventually got home with a little more than two overs to spare.

Trinbago Knight Riders Playing 11

Kieron Pollard, LMP Simmons, SP Narine, James Neesham, Mohammad Hasnain, S Prasanna, Colin Munro, Khary Pierre, Ali Khan, J Searles, Denesh Ramdin.

JT vs TKR Betting Tips

The Caribbean Premier League is in a pretty delicate stage with each result likely to have a colossal effect on final standings. This match as well is more or less going to govern Jamaica Tallawahs' future in the competition. The Tallawahs are a pretty solid looking team, at least on paper, but haven't been able to perform up the standards set by them yet. Trinbago Knight Riders, on the other hand, have been brilliant in all of their first three matches, and are, therefore, better placed to emerge on top in the upcoming encounter.
