NZ vs ENG Match Prediction - Jul 14, 2019

The ICC World Cup 2019 Final is going to be played between England and New Zealand. England smashed past Australia to enter the World Cup final for the fourth time in its history. It is still looking for its first win, though, and the entire country will be watching to see if it can take those final steps.

New Zealand was in the cricket world cup final during 2015 as well. This is now the second successive time it has managed to reach the World Cup Final, a great achievement for a cricketing country with a small population.

New Zealand has also never the cricket world cup title but defeating India in a thriller would have given it the confidence it needs ahead of this match.

We are guaranteed to have a new name in the list of World Cup winners. Will it be the third consecutive time that the host nation wins the cricket world cup? Or will be it the ‘good guys’ of cricket that take him the biggest prize?

England vs New Zealand ICC World Cup 2019 Final is going to be played at Lord’s, London on the 14th of July 2019.

NZ vs ENG Team Previews

New Zealand

An exciting semi-final played over two days against the pre-tournament favorites would have left New Zealand out of breath but it has no time to slow down. Up next is England, who was until recently the number one ranked team in the world and the most successful ODI team since 2015.

We think New Zealand is going to be pleased with playing England in Lord’s. As a venue, Lord’s has been the lowest-scoring ground in England over the last few years and these are usually the kind of surfaces that can trip England up.

New Zealand also has the best bowling attack in this world cup in terms of collective economy rate and average. Their bowling uniquely suited to keeping runs down which is going to be more apparent if the surface becomes slower.

Against India, it was the opening burst from Trent Boult and Matt Henry that set the tone against India and they will need to do something similar in the world cup 2019 final. Getting into the England batting early is going to be key otherwise the game could be beyond them in the first ten overs.

Lockie Ferguson, Mitchell Santner, and the two all-rounders are all in good bowling form.

The New Zealand batting did quite well, all things considered against India. They were rocked by some early wickets and then consolidated with Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor in the middle. Somehow or the other, New Zealand must find a way to find the real Martin Guptill. He has looked tentative this entire tournament and played unlike himself.

He is one the big-3 players in the batting lineup and can win this match for them singlehandedly.

Another important question that New Zealand must ask is if Henry Nicholls did enough to keep his place in the side. We would love to see Colin Munro at the top of the order with the freedom to play attacking cricket but a change in the World Cup final may be unlikely.

New Zealand lost three matches in the middle and looked very beatable. It is not a perfect side and is definitely beatable. The same is true of England and that is what New Zealand must remember.

New Zealand Playing 11

Martin Guptill, Henry Nicholls, KS Williamson, Ross Taylor, James Neesham, TWM Latham, Colin de Grandhomme, Mitchell Santner, Matt Henry, TA Boult, Lockie Ferguson.

England

England has been in position from where it cannot afford to lose for the last three matches now and that seems to have switched on something within this team. Left with no option but to win, England has chosen to stick with its attacking instincts and is now the closest it has been to winning the cricket world cup in the last 27 years.

The fact that this change in fortunes has come with the return of Jason Roy to the team is also not a coincidence. He has four 50 plus scores in six innings and has 426 runs to his name already. Jonny Bairstow has 496 from 10 innings while Joe Root has 549 from 10.

Jason Roy has been more aggressive and left more of an impact than any other player in the England team.

His wicket is going to be very important for England because he sets the tone for the entire match.

England’s batting is the strongest in the cricket world cup 2019. Roy, Bairstow, Root, Stokes, Morgan, and Buttler are all in very good form. The only time this batting lineup has failed is during chases where it has lost a few early wickets.

We don’t expect any changes in the England lineup for this match. The players will just need to be careful of not letting the occasion get to them. The entire country is going to be watching and the weight of expectations can start to weigh you down, especially if things don’t go quite right.

The bowling has been led by Chris Woakes in the last few matches. He and Jofra Archer have been able to pick up early wickets and set the opposition back. They are going to have a great chance of doing the same against New Zealand since their openers are not in good form at all.

Adil Rashid picked up two very important wickets in the sem-final and with the Lord’s surface giving some help the spinners in recent times, he could have a critical role to play in the final as well.

There is no reason why England should not win this match. It has a settled team that is going to be playing in home conditions against an opponent that it has dominated in recent times. England has shown us in this very tournament that it is generally very good but can have some very bad days as well.

This match is what the England team has been working towards for the last four years and it is time to reap the reward.

England Playing 11

JJ Roy, Jonny Bairstow, JE Root, Eoin Morgan, BA Stokes, Jos Buttler, CR Woakes, LE Plunkett, Jofra Chioke Archer, AU Rashid, M Wood.

NZ vs ENG Toss Prediction

The team winning the toss is going to bat first. All previous matches played at Lord's in this world cup have been won by the side batting first. Winning the toss here is a big advantage.

Read our guide on toss predictions to learn how we analyze and come up with our tips.

Pitch and Conditions

England vs New Zealand World Cup 2019 final is going to be played at Lord’s, London. An excellent day for cricket is expected in London on Sunday. There is next to no chance of rain and the sun should be shining on us for the entire duration of the match.

The pitch at Lord’s is going to be very closely watched. There have been five matches played here in the ICC World Cup 2019 so far and all of them have been won by the team batting first. The margins of victory have also been very large with 49 runs being the least among them.

This suggests that the pitch is going to slow down as the match progresses. The team batting first will have the best of the conditions and it is going to become progressively harder as the match goes on.

NZ vs ENG Dream11 Prediction

The World Cup 2019 final is here and as always, we have our Dream11 team for England vs New Zealand ready for you guys! The conditions in Lord’s have favored the team batting first quite a bit in recent years and this is why the final Dream11 team may have some changes after the toss has taken place. Remember to follow us on twitter (@cricketbettings) to get the latest updates that is the only place where we release the updated team.

Wicketkeeper: There are two options in this category. Jos Buttler and Tom Latham. We like Latham but he has been batting quite low down the order and is often kept waiting in the dressing room even as the all-rounders come out and play before him. Jos Buttler is the only real option here, although, he too has not done too much in the previous few matches.

Batsmen: We have picked just three batsmen in our Dream11 team for the England vs New Zealand world cup final. Kane Williamson, Jonny Bairstow, and Eoin Morgan. These are three batsmen we think are best placed to be able to make the most of the opportunity to score runs. Williamson is averaging 91.33 in the tournament so far and is in excellent form. Jonny Bairstow and Eoin Morgan are two more players that we think have the mental capacity to come play freely in the World Cup final.

Jason Roy, Joe Root, and Martin Guptill are three big names we have not selected for this match. Depending on the toss, we could include a couple of them in our final updated Dream11 team.

All-rounders: Ben Stokes, Jimmy Neesham, and Mitchell Santner are the three all-rounders we like for this match. Ben Stokes and Jimmy Neesham have been very consistent in contributing with both the bat and ball. Santner is more of a bowler but he could be a real handful if New Zealand gets the opportunity to bat first.

Having these three players in our team is as good as having three bowlers and two batsmen scoring points for you.

Bowlers: In a World Cup that was supposed to be dominated by the batsmen, the bowlers are having more of a say than expected. We have selected some of the biggest names to be playing this match for our Dream11 team.

Our dream11 picks for England vs New Zealand include Trent Boult, Jofra Archer, Lockie Ferguson, and Adil Rashid. Chris Woakes is an important player and we will probably include him in the team if England is bowling first.

The game could be won by picking up early wickets and that is what the fast bowlers we have picked specialize in. Similarly, Adil Rashid could spin the ball and score a lot of points for our team if England bowls second at Lord’s.

Captain and Vice-Captain: We have picked Kane Williamson as the captain and Jonny Bairstow as the vice-captain for our Dream11 team ICC World Cup 2019 Final.

NZ vs ENG Betting Tips

England is the clear favorite in this match but we don’t think the result is set in stone. As the stats suggest, the toss is going to play a very important role. A bet on the team batting first is definitely advisable along with some in-play hedging.

If we had to pick one team right now then it would be England. They have the home advantage and a stronger team overall.
