Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Gujarat Lions, IPL 2016 – Betting Tips

  • Sunrisers' bowlers well and truly capable of stopping Smith, McCullum and Finch
  • Warner and Williamson in top form
  • Home conditions will suit Sunrisers' bowlers better

Our Prediction: Sunrisers Hyderabad to win, 2.10 Bet on Sunrisers Hyderabad to win for Real Money

About the Match

Sunrisers won their last game against Royal Challengers to avenge their previous defeat and they now stand in the 5th position with 8 points; they are geared up to host second place holders Gujarat Lions on 6th May at Hyderabad and try to improve their ranking. Gujarat Lions have suffered two consecutive defeats and will want to retain the top spot with a comeback performance here; it needs to be seen if SRH can pull off another win on home turf or if the visitors take the game away on Friday.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

David Warner led from the front against RCB and smashed 92 off 50 batting first; Williamson contributed with a well-made 50 from 38 balls while Henriques posted a superb 31 from 14 balls to take the total to 194. Each of the bowlers took a wicket and contained the opposition to 179, helping them win the match by 15 runs and thus registering their fourth win of the season.

Against Supergiants, the batting line-up had collapsed like a pack of cards with only Dhawan scoring an unbeaten 56 while the rest in the top and middle order were dismissed for single digits. With D/L method in place, the hosts found it an uphill task to defend 61 from 11 overs and lost the match by 34 runs. It was dismal performance by the batsmen and they have made up for it by coming out all guns blazing in the last outing against RCB.

They have strong batsmen like Warner, Williamson, Dhawan, Morgan and Henriques, who along with a power-packed bowling squad consisting of speedsters like Nehra, Mustafizur Rahman, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Henriques can put up a tough challenge to the Lions in the upcoming game. In addition to that, Yuvraj can make a come-back in this match which will be a big boost to their batting lineup.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

They have lost their last two games after registering a string of victories in their debut IPL; against Daredevils, the bowlers failed to defend 149 while against Kings XI, the batting line-up crumbled under pressure failing to chase down 155 runs. Openers Smith and McCullum couldn’t fire with the bat in the last two games and they will need to build the foundation in the upcoming match; Dinesh Karthik, Jadeja and Raina contributed well in the middle order against Daredevils but it wasn’t enough.

Bowlers Kaushik, Bravo and Praveen Kumar took 7 wickets between them against Kings XI to restrict them to 154 but a poor show by the batting line-up led to their loss by 23 runs. Against Daredevils however, they proved to be expensive and apart from Kaushik and Jadeja, who took a wicket each, the others failed to stifle the opponents.

They started the season with a bang, winning 6 matches out of nine outings; their recent performance should’ve sounded a wake-up call and they will definitely leave no stone unturned to make a comeback here on Friday.

Our Prediction

The Lions have proven to be a formidable force to reckon with and they won’t allow their recent defeats to dampen their spirits; Sunrisers on the other hand come here at the back of a big win and will try their best to continue with the winning momentum. The match could well go down to the wire but we feel that Sunrisers Hyderabad on their home turf will rise once again with a victory on Friday.

Winner: Sunrisers Hyderabad, 2.10 @ Bet on Sunrisers Hyderabad now
