SV vs LT Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Aug 15, 2019
We are slowly but steadily moving towards the business end of the tournament in the ongoing Kia Women's Super League and with the top four almost finalized, most of the league matches remaining in the competition are inconsequential as far qualification for the next round is concerned. One such game is the encounter between Southern Vipers and Lancashire Thunder who both have their fortunes already decided. Regardless of that, both the sides will be looking to get a win in what will be the last league match for both the sides and it promises to be a scintillating contest between the two teams.
SV vs LT Team Previews
Southern Vipers
The Vipers are coming after a relatively long break as their previous match, against Surrey Stars, was washed out due to rain. They currently occupy the second spot at the points table with two wins in four games.
In their match before the wash-out, they were knocked down by the Storm as their relatively low score was chased down with considerable ease by Western Storm. Stephanie Taylor has been their standout performer so far with the excellent contributions in the three matches. They have done well in the tournament so far and will not be an easy side to deal with on Thursday as well.
Southern Vipers Playing 11
Danielle Wyatt, Tammy Beaumont, Suzie Bates, Stafanie Taylor, Thea Brookes, Maia Bouchier, Carla Rudd, Tash Farrant, Amanda Wellington, Issy Wong, Fritha Morris.
Lancashire Women
Lancashire Lightning have without a doubt been the worst performing side of the tournament. They've not only failed to win any of their matches but also didn't even look like winning one. Their loss against Yorkshire Diamonds was their fourth back to back loss of the tournament, and with just one match remaining, they'll be itching to finish the tournament on a high.
In their previous match, their bowlers did better than they've done in the tournament so far as they restricted the Diamonds to a relatively manageable score of 151. Their batsmen, however, continued their miserable form as the Thunder were eventually bundled out for just 142. Barring Harmanpreet Kaur, no one has really contributed for them consistently, and for them to have a chance against well-settled Vipers, they'd need their rest of the players to step up as well.
Lancashire Women Playing 11
Georgie Boyce, Harmanpreet Kaur, Eleanor Threlkeld, Emma Lamb, Kate Cross, Alex Hartley, Sophia Dunkley Brown, Tahlia McGrath, Sophie Ecclestone, Sune Luus, Alice Dyson.
SV vs LT Betting Tips
Southern Vipers would have pondered upon what went wrong in their previous match, against Storm, and will be looking to make amends. For Lancashire Lightning, however, almost nothing has gone right in the competition so far and will be down on morale. Comparing the two sides on form and on paper, Southern Vipers are better placed to win the upcoming encounter and finish their league stage campaign with a win.
