GG Bet Review
Can you trust GG.bet
We have seen older reviews of GG.bet that mention an MGA license, however, at this time we were only able to verify their Curacao license. It is somewhat unclear whether there was a change or if the MGA license is still valid. In any case, GG.bet does operate legally and they have done so for about six years now.
Esport sites of any kind are always community driven, which means they hold each other accountable. Maintaining a good reputation is therefore vital for GG.bet and we have little doubt that they are, for the most part, trustworthy.
On top of that, they are eCOGRA certified, which is great to see as it is surprisingly rare with sportsbooks that are licensed in Curacao.
Most reviewers seem to give GG.bet a solid if average rating, which is not exactly up there but also not worrisome.
Do be aware that we have found complaints from customers as well, which often have to do with account closures and delayed payouts. There is not a huge or worrying number of these complaints out there, certainly nothing we have not seen at any other betting site.
Overall, we are satisfied that GG.bet is well-regulated and generally conducting themselves fairly.
Sports betting and odds
As mentioned above, we are not just looking at the cricket betting options at GG.bet but at the sportsbook as a whole. Because it’s not possible to give you our recommendation for this as your go to cricket betting site.
At the time of our review, we found odds for the IPL and the UK County Championship One. And nothing else. There were some outright markets available to bet on and that’s that.
It is here that you realise even more this is not primarily a sportsbook of the traditional kind. But that’s okay, because GG.bet knows what they are doing.
Sports betting is available in a much more limited way than you will find at most dedicated sportsbooks. It is a nice-to-have feature but not the main attraction.
You get soccer, basketball, tennis, ice hockey, volleyball, handball, American Football and half a dozen other sports to bet on. There is some live streaming, the most important outright betting options and that’s it.
You’ll get live as well as pre-match betting and some sports are obviously better covered than others, but at the end of the day, GG.bet is an eSports betting site.
And that is where they excel!
Whether you want to bet on Counter Strike, Dota 2, CoD, Overwatch, Rainbow Six or Fortnite, GG.bet is the place to check out. They have almost 20 eSports to bet on, which is more than the number of traditional sports you can find here.
Betting on cricket is something you can do as well here, but it is not why you sign up here. And that’s perfectly fine. There are other dedicated cricket betting sites you can visit, but it is good to know that you get some of it here as well.
What else does GG.bet offer?
Well, GG.bet is not limited to sports and eSports. They have also a more traditional online casino and live casino games available. And it isn’t a small casino either. Their list of providers is extensive, ranging from 1x2 Gaming all the way to Yggdrasil Gaming with a lot of bigger and smaller studios in between.
You can sort games according to provider, table games, slots, drops&wins or new and popular ones. There is also an option to search for specific titles if you want to look for your favourite game that way.
A few smaller jackpot games such as Divine Fortune are available, but none of the big Mega Moolah games. The Glam Life from Betsoft is about the biggest jackpot you can find, but that one is also notoriously difficult to win.
The live casino is provided by Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play, eZugi and a few others. That means you’ll find tons of great quality tables games here and a as a special surprise, Andar Bahar and Teen Patti tables are available as well.
Promotions and bonuses
At the GG.bet sportsbook, you’ll find a page for bonuses and one for promotions. The latter requires a login, which leads us to believe that you’ll find the promotions currently available or active for you there.
In the bonus section, you’ll find plenty of eSports promotions and bonuses, though most of them are out of date, meaning no longer valid.
We couldn’t find a sports welcome bonus anywhere. So, we expect that there is none.
There is a casino welcome bonus, however. Here are some details:
- 1st deposit bonus of 100% and up to €/$200 (or currency equivalent) plus 25 free spins on Starburst
- 2nd deposit bonus of 125% and up to €/$500 plus 50 free spins on Book of Dead
- 3rd deposit bonus of 150% and up to €/$300 and 100 free spins on Legacy of Dead
We have almost never seen an increase in the bonus percentage such as is the case here, which is quite impressive. Keep in mind that there is a minimum deposit amount for each bonus if you wish to claim it.
The maximum conversion for the cash bonuses is 3x the bonus amount. The maximum conversion for the free spins is €/$50, €/$100 and €/$150, respectively.
The bonus funds must be wagered 40x before a withdrawal is possible and the free spin winnings 30x. You only have 5 days to do that, which is quite difficult. Whilst the bonus does seem worthwhile, we would recommend you don’t take the full amount as it becomes very difficult to meet the wagering in that case.
Beyond the welcome bonus, there are other casino bonuses, tournaments of various types and the eSports bonuses that seem to be a regular thing.
There is no separate banking page at GG.bet, though some of the payment methods available are showing at the bottom of the homepage.
Since GG.bet operates internationally, you are better served to login to your account and visit the cashier to find the multitude of banking methods available to you.
You will easily be able to make deposits and withdrawals using credit cards, eWallets, prepaid cards and traditional bank transfers.
The GG.bet homepage doesn’t mention whether or not it is possible to deposit in INR. Other currencies are mentioned here and there, but the site doesn’t show you INR as a currency option even though you are logging in from India. We have only seen dollar or Euro amounts with other currencies mentioned.
Since GG.bet is still quite new in India, this may simply not be updated yet.
If you have questions regarding payments, currency availability or anything else, you will need to contact the customer service team. GG.bet provides a few FAQs when you hit the “Support 24/7” button on the left-hand side of the screen, but no dedicated help section beyond that.
So, any questions you may have are best asked right here. There is also a phone number supplied (several, actually), where you can to talk to someone directly. That’s nice to have and almost old-fashioned.
Keep in mind that we’ve seen complaints here and there that answers are scripted and not necessarily helpful when one has a problem. We sure hope that were isolated instances, however.
The terms and conditions are worth reading through as well since they are exhaustive and informative as well.
To be honest, we struggled with the design of GG.bet. It is very clearly first and foremost and eSports site, which is fine. They all seem to look more like this than a traditional sportsbook. That’s a matter of getting used to it and then you are fine.
But if you like a clean design, easy navigation and a tidy space, GG.bet is not for you. The site feels cluttered at best and way too much at worst.
Granted, on a big screen (which is what eSports fans usually use), this will look a lot different than on a laptop screen. But it is not easy on the eyes and finding your way around takes some trial and error.
We therefore recommend you check out the mobile page, which comes in a tidier and more intuitive layout. It is certainly preferable and there are few distractions as well.
Ideally, you simply download the mobile apps that are available directly on the homepage and use those. They are available for iOS and Android, serving about 99% of all smartphone users.
Conclusion and final thoughts
At GG.bet, you get a main serving of excellent eSports with a side of sports betting. There is nothing wrong with that and as long as you are aware of it, you will likely come here mostly for the eSports action rather than the very limited cricket betting options.
Sports betting is solid here, but it is not why you sign up at GG.bet. This is primarily an eSports site, though we also appreciate the excellent online casino and live casino. Again, not the main reason you sign up here, but a great addition.
Since we usually look at more traditional sportsbooks, we do miss a proper help section, a dedicated banking page and more cricket betting. But we appreciate that the target audience of GG.bet can do without these things, so we won’t complain too much about it.
