The good news is, NetBet is licensed through the MGA in Malta and the UKGC, which is notoriously strict. The operator also holds several other European licenses, which means that they are generally well regulated.
There also don’t appear to be any sanctions imposed against them by the UKGC or any other gambling jurisdictions.
That said, NetBet does not necessarily have a great reputation. Many sites, such as AskGamblers or Casinomeister view them with caution. NetBet has even been declared rogue by Casinomeister on two occasions. Since NetBet apparently refused to work with Casinomeister, they only receive a ‘grey area’ rating these days.
NetBet does work with AskGamblers, however, where a majority of complaints against NetBet appear to have been resolved. However, there are a lot of complaints lodged against the bookmaker, which is in itself not a good sign.
Complaints made in forums by players usually point towards unhelpful customer service as well as withdrawal delays. Those seem to be the main complaints, which seems to have been the case for many years now.
Whilst there is much that players like about the products NetBet offers, they simply don’t seem to like the company very much because their business practices seem to be questionable at best.
On the whole, however, there are unlikely to have been major infractions as the UKGC would have sanctions NetBet in such a case.
So, it’s difficult to trust NetBet given that they seem to delay withdrawal requests unnecessarily, prompting complaints that will usually get resolved. It almost seems as if they don’t really care what their customers think about them, even though most issues are entirely avoidable.
If you wish to play at NetBet because you like the products and betting options they offer, do be sure to proceed carefully. Don’t make big deposits and take great care when making withdrawal requests. This also includes getting your ID verified before you request your first withdrawal.
Cricket betting and other sports
Cricket betting options at NetBet are plentiful. Whilst sports events were still limited due to the Coronavirus pandemic at the time of our review, many sports have already resumed, including cricket.
As such, we were able to find betting markets for leagues such as:
- Pakistan Super League
- Twenty20 Blast
- Test Matches
- One Day Internationals
- Vincy Premier League T10
- European Series T10
- The Hundred 2021
- The Ashes
Smaller events offered fewer betting options, whilst bigger events offered dozens of betting markets to choose from. We’ve certainly seen more comprehensive betting options for cricket elsewhere, but most punters will be happy with what NetBet has to offer. Casual punters especially won’t find anything missing here.
Of course, NetBet offers a comprehensive sportsbook besides cricket betting. There are easily two dozen sports and events available for you to bet on. This includes football, tennis and horse racing, but also motorsports, e-Sports, greyhound racing and all the popular American sports.
Again, bigger sportsbooks do offer more betting markets to their bettors, but if it is more important to you to bet on a wide range of different sports with fewer betting options, you’ll be fine at NetBet.
And the odds are competitive as well. NetBet generally adds a 5% to 6% margin, which is within industry standards. Depending on the sport, you can expect to see better margins as well as slightly worse margins, though they don’t significantly differ from the competition.
Games and more
NetBet offers a full-service casino as well. You’ll be able to play thousands of slots and hundreds of table games here. Moreover, you will find the latest and best titles here. NetBet provides games from NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, Red Tiger, Play’n GO and Quickspin games among many others. Their selection of slots is one of the best we’ve seen recently, so if you like to play great slots, you’re going to find everything you could be looking for here.
This also includes some of the biggest and best progressive jackpot games. Hall of Gods, Arabian Nights, Mega Fortune or Holmes and the Stolen Stones are among them.
A live casino is mostly powered by Evolution Gaming and NetEnt, giving you an excellent selection of table games. Additionally, you will find poker rooms at NetBet, which are part of the iPoker network. As such, you’ll be able to join one of the biggest and best poker networks in the world.
Promotions and bonuses
New customers from India can look forward to a welcome bonus of INR 10,000 and 75 free spins when signing up at the sportsbook. You will need to enter the bonus code WELCOMEIND to claim the bonus on your first deposit.
The bonus money needs to be rolled over 5x on combination bets of odds of 1.5 or higher. The bonus is valid for 14 days before it expires. Any bonus funds remaining in your account after that time will be forfeited.
The free spins will be credited automatically in batches of 1x 50 free spins and 1x 25 free spins. They are valid on specific games only and winnings need to be rolled over 40x within 30 days.
There is also a Vegas offer, which gives new players a 100% deposit bonus and 10 free spins. This bonus can only be rolled over on games in the Vegas section.
Beyond the welcome offers, players at NetBet can also look forward to various free bets or acca insurances. At the time of our review, there was even a massive tournament underway, where participants could win a share of INR 9 crore.
In the promotions section, the focus is definitely on sports and not casino offers.
A VIP club is also available, which also focuses on sports rather than the casino.
If you want to learn more about the payment options at NetBet, you need to visit the help centre and click on ‘payments, where you will be able to find the payment methods and withdrawal information.
NetBet offers the usual range of deposit and withdrawal methods, including credit cards, Paysafecard, ecoPayz, Neteller, Skrill, AstroPay as well as NetBanking and UPI payments, which is particularly handy for players from India.
Maximum transaction limits are listed as well and for most payment methods a minimum deposit of INR 800 is required. Maximum withdrawals are limited to INR 800,000 per transaction.
On that note, withdrawal fees may apply depending on the currency you use. NetBet also advises that withdrawal requests may take up to 7 days to be processed, which is quite long.
When cumulative requests of $2,000 (or the currency equivalent) have been made, an ID check will be necessary. We generally recommend you go through the KYC process before making your first withdrawal request as it saves time later on.
Overall, we couldn’t find anything unusual in the terms and conditions regarding withdrawals, though the 1.5% fee that may be applied is a little irritating.
Do keep in mind that many complaints we have seen about NetBet concern delayed payments and cancelled withdrawals.
If you need help regarding any questions or issues you may have at NetBet, you can contact their customer service team via email or live chat. The live chat is only available between 9am and 11pm UK time, which is somewhat inconvenient for players located in India. It means that for the first half of the day (provided you need help before noon), you won’t really be able to contact anyone at NetBet.
Many comments we have seen about NetBet are also less than favourable about the customer service, which seems to be somewhat unhelpful if not outright dismissive of customer issues. We can’t say that we have made the same experiences, and things do seem to have improved on the whole.
Do keep that in mind before dealing with customer service at NetBet, though.
NetBet definitely offers a pleasant website. The design is modern, user-friendly and offers a layout that is intuitive. Most reviewers and players really do seem to like what NetBet has been doing here. And we agree. The colour scheme is easy on the eyes and the page loads quickly, whether you’re using the sportsbook or any of the games
Of course, there’s also a mobile page, which you can access via any mobile device. The layout is optimised for the small screen, but otherwise you will have full access to all the products that NetBet has to offer.
Additionally, customers using an Android or Amazon device are also able to download an app directly through the NetBet website. For some unknown reason, no app is currently available for iOS users.
On the surface, NetBet has a lot to offer to casual and regular punters in India and elsewhere. The sportsbook is professional, the odds are within acceptable industry standards, the cricket betting markets are solid, and you get to play tons of casino games on top of that.
NetBet also offers quite a few betting features that make it easy to custom-build your bets or cash out bets that are no longer going your way.
So, NetBet is definitely a good sportsbook and an excellent casino that has tons to offer.
But from everything we hear, they really need to improve their service and their attitude. In this day and age, it is no longer feasible to keep customers waiting for more than 24 hours to process withdrawal requests. If anything, a bank transfer may take a few days, but most punters prefer e-Wallets these days because they are super convenient and fast.
And the customer service needs a complete overhaul as well. The best product in the world is not going to appeal to anyone if the customer service is subpar. If you decide to try NetBet out, we recommend you proceed with caution.
