The original 12Bet betting site is licensed through the Philippine government. Where customers from Asia are concerned, that is quite alright. But internationally speaking, the standard could be higher and there’s always a preference for multiple gambling licenses.
That said, since 12Bet has branched out to the European market, they also acquired a UK license from the Gambling Commission, which is reassuring. Though their UK website has little to do with the site players from India are using. The presentation alone couldn’t be more different, but more on that later.
Generally speaking, we’ve seen as many complaints about 12Bet as we’ve seen about many other bookmakers. It’s part of the trade. Some players will always be unhappy. But 12Bet has been in business for more than 12 years now and that in itself is worth something.
Additionally, 12Bet works with TST to certify that all games are fairly tested and regulated independently. Since we have not found any indication that this is a rogue casino, we consider 12Bet to be as fair as their competitors.
Cricket betting and other sports
With their focus on the Asian market, 12Bet also offers plenty of cricket betting. When you hover your mouse over the sports section in the main menu, you will find cricket in prime position. Clicking on it will take you to the cricket betting markets that are available in the sportsbook. From there, navigation becomes a little more intuitive and you can easily find your way around.
Depending on the season, you may find several dozen outright betting options for cricket and competitive odds. You can select all available leagues available at any given day or check only the ones you are interested in via a drop-down menu.
At the time of our review that included:
- ICC Women T20 World Cup
- ODI Game 2
- Pakistan Super League
- Twenty20 Game 3
You’re generally first shown upcoming as well as live matches. If you want to look further into the future for pre-match bets, you’ll need to drill down available betting options.
Another sports you’ll be able to be on is kabaddi. It is also featured prominently, and you’ll be able to find a handful of betting options if matches are currently available.
Beyond that, 12Bet offers betting on various popular sports including football, tennis and horse racing as well. Overall, however, the number of sports you can bet on is smaller than we’ve seen elsewhere. Perhaps their focus is set more tightly, but you get less than two dozen sports and other events with available markets.
Games and more
For those interested in a little more than sports betting, you can check out the Playtech, Casino and Live Casino section. Playtech is a provider of online casino games that is featured separately here. They have table games, slots, progressive jackpots and even live games available.
Additionally, you will find plenty of the same from other providers such as NetEnt, Microgaming, Leander, NoLimit City, Play’n GO, ELK Studios, Blueprint Gaming and many more.
Fans of Teenpatti will rejoice to hear that there are several versions available in the live casino.
Keno and lottery get their own sections as well and you can even bet on number games in the sportsbook. It’s all quite varied and plenty of entertainment is at hand.
Promotions and bonuses
There’s a separate button for promotions in the top right-hand corner of the homepage, regardless of where you are on the 12Bet sites. Depending on where you are, however, the promotions page will open on the relevant promotions for the product. That means you will get the sports promotions when you are in the sportsbook, the casino promotions when you are in the casino and keno promotions when you access the promotions from there.
A handy tab lets you navigate between the different areas, however, meaning you can check out all the promotions in the pop-up window anyway.
And let us tell you, there are tons of promotions available at any given time. You will find various welcome offers in the sportsbook, casino, the Playtech section, Keno and Lottery. Listing them all here would be way too much. Naturally, you are likely more interested in the sports bonus anyway.
Even there you can find three different kinds of bonuses. Honestly, it’s almost a bit too much and a little less would have been fine as well. At the same time, you can take your pick and choose the bonus that suits your needs best.
The most generic among those bonuses is the 100% bonus and up to INR 5,000. You would need to turnover your deposit and bonus 10x in the sportsbook before a withdrawal of the bonus funds or winnings would be possible. You have 30 days to complete the wagering.
All bonuses are sorted into deposit bonuses, specials and cashback bonuses. That’s handy and you can find plenty of each for every 12Bet product they offer.
On the left-hand side of the homepage, you’ll find various icons such as an ‘i’ for info, a customer service rep, a phone, an envelope and others. If you click on it, it expands and when you hover above them, they’ll tell you what you they are for. A pair of bank notes will lead you to the banking info.
Players from India will be able to make deposits in USD and INR using only Neteller or Skrill. There are no fees involved, transactions are done instantly and minimum and maximum amounts you can deposit are listed as well.
The terms and conditions also advise us that the maximum withdrawal per transaction is USD 10,000 and per month it is USD 30,000 (or the currency equivalent).
If you have questions beyond that, you can contact customer support.
And they are available 24/7 via live chat or even via WhatsApp, which is very modern approach. Of course, you can also use email or social media to get in touch with the people at 12Bet.
There is a separate FAQ and help section on the website as well, which already covers the most important topics most customers are interested in.
Beyond that, the customer support is engaging and trying to be helpful. We’ve seen a few of their responses in various gambling forums, though there may be room to improve here as well.
Customers accessing 12Bet from India will have a very different experience than those accessing the sportsbook from the UK. The latter get a clean, tidy and unpretentious homepage. But those from India will get tons of gimmicks, more flashy designs, odd little special effects and design elements that seem to have survived the early days of the Internet, hailing back to the 90s.
It’s colourful and bright and often just too much. In fact, the site is so heavy on graphics sometimes that it leads to slow loading times, which can be a nuisance. It also lacks a certain professionalism and you wonder if the designers have made it to the 21st century yet or if they are still fawning over everything the late 90s had to offer.
Navigation is also not always easy as the site tends to be cluttered, which is true for the sportsbook as well. There are tons of information to be found everywhere, but that leads to too many links and opportunities to hover your mouse over icons to find out what they are good for.
Beyond that, you can download the casino for your desktop and for your Android or mobile devices. Opting for the mobile apps is a good idea since the mobile page of the casino is not much better than the desktop site.
Honestly, we mostly take issue with the graphic heavy website and the visual aspects of the 12Bet site rather than the actual products they offer. The sportsbook could be more extensive, but all the sports that punters in India favour are covered, which is all we are asking for.
At least the cricket section is really quite good, and a range of markets are available throughout the year.
The casino and live casino are quite good and 12Bet works with many reputable providers that have some excellent games for you to play.
You may have an issue with the fact that only Skrill and Neteller are available for deposits and withdrawals. So, be sure that you are happy to use either.
Outside of that we have little to complain. 12Bet has been around for over a decade and apparently successfully so.
