About Unibet

Founded back in 1997, Unibet is one of the longest running online gambling companies, turning over hundreds of millions of dollars every single year. Unibet’s headquarters are in Malta, but they hire thousands of employees in locations worldwide, including Australia, the United Kingdom and Denmark.

Unibet has experienced steady growth over the years, helped by its acquisitions of a number of brands and websites. These include the Danish bookmaker Bet24, which they bought in 2012, and bingo.com, a premium domain that they paid $8 million for (the business that was attached to this domain was also included in this deal).

Bonuses

Unibet, like many of its rival sports books, offers new member bonuses that are created to appeal to the majority. This means they are often between £30 and £60, and never more than £100. Most of the time you will find a free bet refund, whereby you deposit and play with a set amount and then get your money back if you lose. At the time of writing, that’s the bonus available and the bonus that has been available for some time, but while it’s certainly worth taking, it’s fairly limited at just £30.

There are also some restrictions on this bonus, but not as many as you would find on matched deposit bonuses and no deposit bonuses.

As well as the new member bonuses mentioned above, Unibet also has a number of betting promotions and casino bonuses. These range from happy hours and happy days, where simply being there and playing can unlock some prizes, to cash back, free bets and more. You need to pay close attention to the promotions page to stay up to date with all of these, as many of them require you to opt in. You can also signup to their newsletter, although you have to be prepared to wade through a lot of crap, and to receive countless emails in order to get to the good stuff.

Unibet Pros

These days sports books come and go. It seems that anyone with a bit of money and some advertising clout behind them is creating a sports book. It’s hard to really get behind these new brands and to put your faith in them, which is why established brands like Unibet are so important. Reputation is a necessity in this industry, and Unibet’s reputation is up there with the best of them.

Unibet also has a decent selection of markets and odds, although it’s not the best. It’s on par with what you would expect from a respected brand, but falls a little short of some of their rival sports books and betting exchanges. Their bonuses are on par with the very best that this industry has to offer though, and they also have a good selection of mobile bonuses and promotions. In fact, Unibet do more for the mobile market than many of their rival sports books, and as well as a streamlined app that showcases all available markets, there are also bonuses aimed purely at mobile users.

Unibet Cons

Unibet can be guilty of being a victim of its own size and success, which means the customer support can be a little slow from time to time. It isn’t always like this and they have been helpful most of the time, but there are those frustrating moments when replies take too long and don’t address the problem at hand.

You also won’t find a glut of markets, and if you like niche and obscure bets, the kind that you might be able to find on big betting exchanges and one or two big sports books, then you will be disappointed.

Summary

Unibet deserves its status as one of the biggest sports books in the world, and it’s easy to see why they have been around for such a long time. This is a gambling giant, backed by an unrivaled reputation, some big bonuses and some endorsements by professional gamblers and sports stars alike.

It’s not perfect, but it’s probably as close as you will get from a sports book. And thanks to its connections to the United Kingdom and Australia, there is never a shortage of cricket markets to choose from.
