AA vs CK Match Prediction - Mar 26, 2021

We are into the second-last week of the Plunkett Shield and not a lot is likely to change hereon. Having said that, the competition in the middle part of the points table is still up and running and the result of the next few matches could leave a major mark on the standings of the tournament. The match between Canterbury Kings and Auckland Aces would be a crucial one for the Aces as they have an opportunity to occupy the second spot on the ladder. The match is to begin on 27th March 2021 and will be played at Eden Park Outer Oval, Auckland.

AA vs CK Team Previews

Auckland Aces

Auckland Aces' performance in this tournament has clearly proved one thing - that they are a better team in the longer version of the game than they are in the shortest format. They finished at the bottom of the pit in Super Smash, but are good candidates for grabbing the second spot in Plunkett Shield. Up until now, they have 50 points to their name with two wins and three draws.

The most surprising thing for the Aces' fans would be that they are yet to lose a match in the tournament. If the upcoming match is to follow history, Auckland Aces should be in pretty good shape in the upcoming contest. They'll be hoping to register a win against the Kings and will expectedly be glad to settle even for a draw.

The reason for Aces posting so many draws is that they have a terrific batting unit but not so strong bowling unit. Their bowlers have struggled to pick twenty wickets and the lack of penetration was apparent in the previous match as well. If their bowlers manage to put pressure and pick wickets against the Kings, the Aces will be a tough unit to crack.

Auckland Aces Playing 11

Sean Solia, Wiliam O' Donnell, Graeme Beghin, CJ Briggs, Robert O'Donnell, Ben Horne, Ross Ter Braak, William Somerville, Louis Delport, Olly Pringle, Ryan Harrison.

Canterbury Kings

Canterbury Kings have been the most successful team this season and may need a bigger cabinet to keep their trophies as they became the only team to claim four titles in New Zealand's domestic cricket. They have already won the Plunkett Shield as they sit at the top of the table with 98 points to their name. They are yet to lose a match and have won five of the six played.

They completed a solid win over Central Stags, the win that came on the back of a solid performance by their bowlers and middle-order batsmen. On paper, the Canterbury Kings have arguably the best-balanced bowling attack in the competition and that is helping them fly high in the competition. Apart from that, Canterbury have a terrific middle order, which has experience and class oozing out. Leo Carter, Cole McConchie, Cam Fisher, and Chad Bowes have been in incredible touch and could be tough to deal with.

All in all Canterbury Kings seem to have everything going for them and will be running high on confidence. Besides, they have a terrific team that will not be impacted much by Bangladesh's tour of New Zealand. Considering that, Canterbury Kings should be able to present yet another tough challenge to their opponents in the upcoming match.

Chad Bowes, Ken McClure, Cole McConchie, Leo Carter, Cameron Fletcher, Theo van Woerkom, Sean Davey, Will Williams, Fraser Sheat, Ed Nuttall, Harry Chamberlain, Jack Boyle.

AA vs CK Betting Tips

h2>Our Prediction

Canterbury Kings are already through and might want to experiment a bit with their team composition in the upcoming contest. Auckland, on the other hand, will be keen to register a win and announce their candidature for the second spot. Comparing the two sides on all accounts, Canterbury appear to be having a more complete side. They also have been brilliant in the tournament and will be brimming with confidence. For that reason, betting on a Canterbury's win should be the way to go here.
