Team Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi lost its opening fixture of the season in which it played against the Deccan Gladiators by a huge margin of 35 runs. They next faced the Delhi Bulls in an engaging encounter.

Batting first, Team Abu Dhabi scored 120 runs in their quota of 10 overs. Brandon King played an excellent knock of 64 off just 27 deliveries and stitched a partnership of 101 runs with James Vince. Peter Hatzoglou and Amad Butt were pretty expensive, but the latter did pick up 2 wickets. Andrew Tye too scalped 2 wickets and the match went down the wire.

In the end, Naveen ul -Haq, who bowled the last over, held his nerve, and the game ended with the scores level. It was the first tie of this season, and Abu Dhabi collected its first point. The opening pair of Team Abu Dhabi has been a let-down so far, as neither Chris Lynn nor Alex Hales has managed to get a big score. While James Vince looks in good form, the other batsmen will need to step up if the team wants to finish in the top 4. 

Northern Warriors

The Warriors are the most successful team in the history of the T10 League, but they haven’t had the best of starts this season. They have lost both their opening matches and are currently last on the points table.

The latest of those losses came against the Deccan Gladiators. The Gladiators, batting first took the bowling attack to the cleaners, smashing 138 runs. Chasing a stiff target, the Warriors were off to a steady start as Kennar Lewis and Adam Lythe shared an opening stand of 59 runs. However, the middle order failed to capitalize on the good start, and ultimately they fell short by 24 runs.

While the individual players, including Lythe and Rovman Powell, have performed decently, the Warriors have failed to perform as a team, leading to this disastrous performance. Also, the void left by the exit of marquee players Moeen Ali and Imran Tahir, who were some of the top performers in the previous season, hasn’t been filled.
