The Knight Riders vs. the Warriors might not be the most exciting cricket matchup this weekend, but we’re still interested to see what transpires.
Abu Dhabi remains in last place without a win, but surely their luck has to turn eventually, right? The Warriors are doing fine with a 3-4 record, as they recently lost to the first-placed Vipers by 22 runs.
The Knight Riders are playing far, far away from any sort of good cricket, but there is hope on the horizon in the form of batter Joe Clarke. He was great for the Melbourne Stars in the BBL, and was the sixth-highest run-scorer in the league with 381. If anyone can turn things around, Clarke can do it.
If Andre Russell and Paul Stirling can support Clarke with reliable batting, and Kumara and Hosein can each take 2+ wickets, then the Knight Riders have the chance of success here.
Paul Stirling, Joe Clarke, Brandon King, Charith Asalanka, Andre Russell, Connor Esterhuizen, Sunil Narine, Akeal Hosein, Marchant de Lange, Matiullah Khan, Sabir Rao.
The Warriors have to feel confident if Tom Kohler-Cadmore continues to bat like he’s been doing this season, as he’s already made 245 runs and has an average of 40.83 (including one giant 106* against DC). There’s a bit of a drop-off to the next-best batter at Rahmanullah Gurbaz with 161 runs, but the team is solid.
The bowlers have been performing great for the Warriors, as both Naveen-ul-Haq (10 wickets) and Junaid Siddique (nine wickets) have helped to keep the team in the upper half of the table. Naveen-ul-Haq’s 5/38 against the Giants is a high bar, but he can do it again.
Tom Kohler Cadmore, Evin Lewis, Moeen Ali, Dawid Malan, Marcus Stoinis, Chris Benjamin, Mohammad Nabi, Chris Woakes, Junaid Siddique, Naveen ul Haq, Muhammad Jawad Ullah.
Expect the team winning the toss to bat first.

The pitch is usually flat and gives the bowlers no bounce, but batters have a good time, which means it should be high scoring.
The odds will say that the Warriors are the favourite, but we think the Knight Riders do have a good enough team to get a victory. If Clarke and Russell can each pick up at least a half-century, and let Kumara and Hosein limit the Warriors’ batters to a poor total, then a win is possible for Abu Dhabi.
The Warriors did win the previous matchup, but we believe revenge is possible for Abu Dhabi and the odds are good for a victory.
Bet on the Knight Riders to win.
