The Hobart Hurricanes have been almost unbeatable in the Big Bash League this season. They managed to win a very close match against the Perth Scorchers in their previous match and now have seven wins from eight matches. The Hobart Hurricanes are opening up a gap between themselves and the rest of the teams and coming closer to clinching a semi-final berth.
The Hobart Hurricanes will be playing against the Adelaide Strikers in this match. The Adelaide Strikers have won just four out of their eight matches and are right in the middle of the BBL League table. The Strikers are going to get a boost in this match thanks to Alex Carey and Billy Stanlake being available for the match.
This promises to be a very exciting match between the defending champions of the BBL and the team that missed out narrowly in the finals last season.
The Adelaide Strikers suffered a massive loss to Sydney Thunder in their previous game. The Strikers bowling suffered at the hands of Shane Watson and then the batting completely collapsed in a heap. A loss by 71 runs in T20 cricket is massive and would have done a lot of damage to their net run-rate.
A decidedly stronger Adelaide Strikers side is going to take the field in this match. The addition of Alex Carey to the top of the order and Billy Stanlake to the bowling attack makes the Strikers much more dangerous.
With Alex Carey coming back into the side, Harry Nielson will go out of the team and Matthew Short can go back to his place in the middle order. Of course, Travis Head is not going to be available for this match because he is a part of the Australian Test squad which is going to play against Sri Lanka.
Still, a top order of Carey, Weatherald, and Ingram is a very dangerous one. We love the form that Colin Ingram has shown in BBL 08 and think he should be a lock to be your pick for the highest run-getter for the Adelaide Strikers.
With Short and Wells in the middle order, the Adelaide Strikers look like a more settled batting lineup.
It will be interesting to see whether the bowling lineup undergoes a change after the performance in the previous match. Liam O Connor gave away 44 runs without a single wicket in his four overs. Ben Laughlin also gave away 44 runs but took one wicket.
The poor performance by these two bowlers undid the good work Michael Neser, Rashid Khan, and Billy Stanlake did. We think the Adelaide Strikers will stick to the same bowling attack in this match as well and hope that the previous performance was just a blip.

The Hobart Hurricanes have been outstanding in BBL 08. The side has shown itself to be brilliant in every facet of the game. They have the batting to start strong or recover from early wickets. Their bowling is good enough to defend small totals and their leadership group is very good as well.
There are not too many weaknesses in the Hobart Hurricanes side and that is why opponents have to be at their best against them.
While a lot of attention is given to the strong Hobart Hurricanes batting, we think its bowling is doing a fantastic job as well. James Faulkner took three wickets with his first seven balls and had the Perth Scorchers on the mat. He has 13 wickets in 8 matches and is the third highest wicket-taker in BBL 08 at the moment.
Riley Meredith has been phenomenal as well. We genuinely believe he is about to make it to the Australian national team very soon. Jofra Archer has now proven himself to a world-class performer and is very hard to score off in most games.
Johan Botha, Clive Rose, David Moody, and Darcy Short have all been pitching in to complete the rest of the overs according to the team composition and requirement.
Darcy Short is the highest run-getter in the BBL right now with 368 runs to his name. He got out cheaply in the previous match but the other batsmen stood up once again. George Bailey is a rock in the middle order and top-scored with 69 in the last match as well.
The lack of big scores from Matthew Wade may be a small concern for the Hobart Hurricanes even though he has been getting starts consistently. Caleb Jewell impressed in the previous match, Ben McDermott is in good touch, while Simon Milenko and James Faulkner are terrific finishers as well.

The BBL 08 match between the Adelaide Strikers and the Hobart Hurricanes is going to be played at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide. The weather forecast for Adelaide on match day is for clear skies with lots of sun.
The pitch at the Adelaide Oval has been a very good one for batting. The small square boundaries also help in plenty of runs to be scored. Two strong batting lineups should be able to provide us with a high-scoring match.
The Hobart Hurricanes are the favorites for this encounter and it is hard to argue against that. The Adelaide Strikers, though, are going to be strengthened by the arrival of some of their best players. They are also playing at home, which can be a big advantage.
