The Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder are going to be playing their final BBL match against each other. This is going to be the second time that these two teams play each other in succession and the result is going to determine which team stays in the top-5 and which falls out of contention.
As of the time of this writing, there are just four points that separate the teams from positions 3 to 7. That means that the final matches for all of these teams are going to have a huge significance on the league table. The BBL has never been as closely contested as it is right now and that is a huge positive!
Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Thunder BBL 2020-21 is going to be played at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide on the 25th of January 2021.
The Adelaide Strikers managed t register a very important victory against Sydney Thunder in their previous match. It was a surprisingly low-scoring game in which the Adelaide bowlers performed very well.
Peter Siddle, Michael Neser, and Danny Briggs did really well to keep the strong Sydney Thunder batting lineup from chasing a below-par total.
It is going to be tough repeating the same dose in this match but that is what the Strikers must try for. We thought that the pitch at the Adelaide Oval was uncharacteristically slow and favored the bowlers. It would have settled down after this match and will once again be a good batting surface.
That is its inherent nature and why the Strikers bowlers are going to have to work harder in this match.
Alex Carey and Travis Head are the batsmen to watch out for. Jake Weatherald got out just when he was playing freely. The batting lineup for the Strikers is decent but not as strong as what Sydney Thunder brings to the table.
Alex Carey, Jake Weatherald, Philip Salt, TM Head, JW Wells, Ryan Gibson, Michael Neser, Daniel Worrall, Wes Agar, Liam O'Connor, Peter Siddle.
Sydney Thunder has a very strong batting lineup, and it would be disappointed at not being able to chase down 160 in the previous match. That was a total that it should have got especially with Alex Hales being in the kind of form that he is.
However, the pitch played a bit slower than usual and the players were unable to get any sort of momentum.
We think the pitch is going to be back at its best in this next match and provide Sydney Thunder another opportunity to make an impact with its batting.
The likes of Callum Ferguson, Oliver Davies, Usman Khawaja, Sam Billings, and Ben Cutting should be more than enough for whatever the Adelaide Strikers have in their arsenal.
Among the bowlers, Brendan Doggett was brilliant with his yorkers and Milne was quite spectacular as well. Booth these bowlers have the skills to be able to repeat their brilliance for a second consecutive match.
Usman Khawaja, AD Hales, Callum Ferguson, Sam Billings, Alex Ross, Ben Cutting, Nathan McAndrew, Christopher Green, Adam Milne, Brendan Doggett, Tanveer Sangha.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first.

There is no rain predicted on match day and so we should have an uninterrupted contest. That being said, the pitch is expected to e better for batting this time around. The players would also have adjusted to the pace of the wicket and so a lot many more runs should be scored this time around.
We think a score of around 180 is going to be scored by the team batting first.
Sydney Thunder may have missed out in the previous match but we think it is the team to back in this contest. It has a stronger batting lineup led by Alex Hales and should be able to come hard at the Adelaide Strikers bowling this time around.
Bet on Sydney Thunder to win.
