The Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat have both struggled with inconsistency this WBBL. They are now going to go up against each other in what is one of the matches we are most looking forward to this weekend.
The Strikers have won three matches while Heat has won two. Neither team is in the top-4 right now and so winning this match is very important. Brisbane Heat is the two-time defending champion of the WBBL and sitting second from the bottom does not suit it.
Can it win this match and start its ascent towards the top of the table or will the Strikers make it two in two over Heat this season?
Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat WBBL 2020 is going to be played at the Drummoyne Oval, Sydney on the 14th of November 2020.
The Adelaide Strikers have been mid-range this entire WBBL and need to find a way to break out towards the top. They have defeated sides that they were expected to but have not really been able to pull off any upsets.
In terms of batting, the Adelaide Strikers have a decent lineup. Suzie bates headlines the batting at the top with support from Katie Mack, Tahlia McGrath, and Laura Wolvaardt. The South African Wolvaardt has been in superb form and is going to be the biggest wicket for Brisbane Heat.
We think this lineup lacks a bit of power but it certainly has a lot of class.
Megan Schutt is the standout bowler for the Strikers. She has not had the best of tournaments this season and needs to find her best. With Amanda Wellington, Sarah Coyte, and Tahlia McGrath for support, the Strikers have an average bowling attack.
Schutt and Wolvaardt are the gun players for them in this lineup.
T McPharlin, Laura Wolvaardt, B Patterson, Katie Mack, Stafanie Taylor, T McGrath, Amanda Wellington, Megan Schutt, S Coyte, Darcie Brown, Maddie Penna.
Just two wins to its names so far is not what we expected from Brisbane Heat. It has tried many things but the constant changing around is taking a toll on the team balance. An 8-wicket win against Sydney Thunder would have given Brisbane Heat some confidence and we think they are going to stick with most of the same things.
Grace Harris and Georgia Redmayne are expected to open the batting with Jess Jonassen elevating herself to number three. This gives them some much needed power at the top and the maximum opportunity to its best batters.
Georgia Voll scored runs in the previous match and will add stability to the middle order.
With Laura Harris, Maddy Green, and Amelia Kerr in the middle-order as well, Brisbane Heat should have enough.
Jess Jonassen is also going to lead the bowling attack with support from Nadine de Klerk and Georgia Prestwidge.
This Brisbane Heat team is finding its feet after losing some important players in the off-season but it is not a poor team at all.
Georgia Redmayne, Maddy Green, Laura Harris, Charli Knott, Georgia Voll, Jess Jonassen, Amelia Kerr, Grace Harris, Nadine de Klerk, Courtney Sippel, Nicola Hancock.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first.

Sydney should be nice and sunny for this weekend and so we don’t expect many interruptions to the cricket. The pitch is expected to be a bit slow but generally very flat. Scores around the 140-150 mark are going to be pretty hard to chase down.
The spinners could play a big role in this match.
We think Brisbane Heat should be able to win this match. It seems to have got its batting order right and the form of Jess Jonassen is a huge advantage as well. They are up against an evenly matches team in the Adelaide Strikers but should have enough to be able to get through.
Bet on Brisbane Heat to win.
