ADSW vs BHW Match Prediction - Nov 14, 2022

The upcoming WBBL schedule is more exciting than ever with everything heating up for final seeding positions for the title battle.

The Strikers will face the Thunder and the Heat will take on the Hurricanes, but we’re going to preview the tantalising fight between Adelaide and Brisbane.

ADSW vs BHW Team Previews

Adelaide Strikers Women

Although the Strikers are still in third place on the WBBL ladder, they’ve got to be annoyed at themselves for losing to the Hurricanes by 23 runs. Adelaide certainly had their chances to win, but poor fielding and three dropped catches helped the Hurricanes to get the victory.

Adelaide is still 6-4 and had been on a two-game win streak before the loss, especially with one big victory over the Scorchers. To have two fantastic batters in the lineup just gives them a huge advantage, as both Madeline Penna (241 total runs) and Katie Mack (237 total runs) are two of the most lethal in the WBBL.

We’re excited to see the continual progression of bowlers Amanda-Jade Wellington (17 wickets) and Megan Schutt (14 wickets) for the remainder of the season, as the Strikers will need to be as complete as possible before the finals start.

Adelaide Strikers Women Playing 11

Deandra Dottin, Katie Mack, Laura Wolvaardt, T McGrath, B Patterson, Maddie Penna, Amanda Wellington, T McPharlin, Jemma Barsby, Megan Schutt, Darcie Brown.

Brisbane Heat Women

The Heat are still top of the league with a 7-3 record and are on a three-game win streak, but there are reasons to be concerned. Star batter Georgia Redmayne, who is leading the WBBL in total runs scored with 333, picked up a hamstring injury in the recent win over Perth. She’ll certainly be out for the match vs. the Hurricanes and very likely this one against Adelaide.

The Heat aren’t without other star batters, such as Grace Harris (212 total runs), but Redmayne has been the key to victory in many of Brisbane’s games and her absence will be sorely missed until her return. This does give the Strikers a big chance to win.

However, Adelaide will still have to watch out for great bowling from Nicola Hancock and Jessica Jonassen, who both have 17 wickets for the season, as these two have been making light work of batters for some time.

ADSW vs BHW Toss Prediction

Adelaide is 3-6 when batting second against the Heat, so in order to switch things up, the Strikers should look to bat first if winning the toss.

Pitch and Conditions

The outfield is fast and the pitch is very bouncy at the Karen Rolton Oval, so both batters and bowlers will enjoy playing here.

ADSW vs BHW Betting Tips

The Heat are a fantastic squad and deserve to be at the top of the ladder, but the possible absence of Redmayne and a wish to relax a bit before the start of the finals will hurt the squad.

The Strikers will be angry that they lost to the Hurricanes and will be out for victory against a top team like the Heat to prove themselves to everyone. Adelaide has won the last three meetings between these two teams, so it appears as if the Strikers always know how to get the victory over Brisbane.

Bet on Adelaide to win.
