We’d like to see them hit high 40s or a half-century, though.

The Strikers could use a bit more consistency from batter Deandra Dottin, who can go big with 68 runs or completely low with a duck. It often feels like Dottin’s performance is tied to whether Adelaide wins or loses.

Bowlers Amanda-Jade Wellington (18 wickets) and Megan Schutt (17) are aiding to keep the Strikers stay competitive, with Schutt especially helping the team with her 3/38 performance against the Heat. Tahlia McGrath has the second-worst Economy Rate in the league with 8.30, so the Strikers will have to be vigilant during her overs.

Hobart Hurricanes Women

Hobart has won four out of their last five matches (one unusual loss to the Stars) that have propelled them to the upper section of the ladder. They’re in a great spot to stay in the top four, but nothing is set in stone just yet. Getting past the Strikers is no easy feat.

Mignon Du Preez is leading the team in runs with 253, but her scores have been all over the place lately, ranging from three to 50 in some cases. She’s a solid batter, but it’s tough to know if she can be relied upon. A bad game will let Adelaide have a strong chance to win. Captain Elyse Villani has been batting a lot better, and there are also Lee and Carey to watch out for.

Molly Strano remains perhaps the biggest threat for the Strikers, as she’s picked up 18 wickets this season and her spin bowling is only getting more effective. She does have games without a wicket, so Adelaide will hope she isn’t in the right form for this matchup.
