Just as we predicted, Adelaide Strikers rampaged past Melbourne Renegades in their opening match of the Women's Big Bash League. They'll be looking to strengthen their superlative position in the points table with yet another win when they take on familiar foes, the Renegades, in their upcoming encounter of the tournament. The match between the two sides is set to be played at the same venue of Karen Rolton Oval, Adelaide, on October 20th.
Adelaide Strikers displayed flawless performance in their opening match as they rose to the top of the table with a splendid win. Both their batting as well as bowling exceeded expectations in the opening match, and they'll be looking for something similar in the upcoming game as well.
It all started for them when they chose to bowl after winning the toss. Megan Schutt and Sophie Devine were excellent in the opening burst, which was well backed up by incredible bowling from Stephanie Taylor. They restricted Renegades to just 117, which was eventually chased down with more than four overs to go.
After exhibiting a special effort from the ball, Sophie Devine stood up with bat as well as she hammered 72 off just 45 deliveries to guide her team to the victory. While the likes of Suzie Bates, TM McGrath, and BE Patterson failed to do anything of substance, their management wouldn't be too worried about that, just yet.

Nerves got better of Renegades in their opening encounter of the series as they failed to put on a par score even on a surface perfectly suited to bat freely. With a colossal defeat to their name, they are currently languishing at the second spot from the bottom of the table and will be looking to kick-start their campaign with a win in their upcoming encounter.
Batting first against the Strikers, none of their top-order batsmen was able to find feet as four key players were dismissed for just 21 runs on the board. Had it not been for JE Duffin, their skipper, who scored 44 off 32 deliveries, the Renegades would have bundled out for a lot less.
Defending such a low total, there was hardly anything their bowlers could have done and hence it proved to be. Even though the likes of LMM Tahuhu and M Brown picked up a couple of important wickets, the Strikers got home with incredible ease.
Josie Dooley, Tammy Beaumont, Jess Duffin, Claire Koski, Courtney Webb, Danielle Wyatt, Sophie Molineux, Lea Tahuhu, Molly Strano, Maitlan Brown, Georgia Wareham.
This upcoming match will be the second encounter between the two sides in the space of 24 hours, and both sides do not have much time to ponder upon and improve on their mistakes in the first match. Adelaide Strikers were a better team in the first match, by far, and will be looking to see a repeat result. They are a better team between the two, at least on paper, and odds of 1.58 aren't too bad to bet on them. Placing your money on a win for the Strikers will be the way to go for in this upcoming fixture.
