ADSW vs MLSW Match Prediction & Analysis

Adelaide Strikers lost a very close game to the Perth Scorchers and are now down to the second spot on the league table. They will now play against the Melbourne Stars, a side that is firmly at the bottom of the table, to try and stave off the following teams.

Melbourne Stars have been the worst team in WBBL by a fair distance. They have won just one out of their six matches and have been too dependent on a couple of players in their side. They are still not out of the running for a playoff spot, though, and a couple of wins could change things around very quickly indeed.

Adelaide Strikers Women vs Melbourne Stars Women WBBL is going to be played at the Karen Rolton Oval, Adelaide, South Australia on the 10th of November 2019.

Team Previews

Adelaide Strikers Women

Adelaide Strikers failed to chase down a total of 173 falling short by just two runs. It was a defeat that would have hurt them because they still had six wickets in hand. With some set players at the top of the order, this was a target that they should have reeled in.

Sophie Devine made 58 off 50 balls and was not able to get the momentum needed in her inning. Suzie Bates also ended up with 23 runs off 25 balls, which is just not good enough while opening the batting.

It was down to Bridget Patterson, who scored 60 runs from 32 balls, which helped the Adelaide Strikers reach close to the target in the end.

Compared to the Melbourne Stars, the Adelaide Strikers have a very good batting lineup and should be able to negotiate their bowing pretty easily. The Adelaide Strikers have plenty of batters that are in good form and that should work in their favor.

Megan Schutt, Sarah Coyte, Sophie Devine, and Tahlia McGrath have all been bowing very well. The Adelaide Strikers bowling unit is easily among the stronger ones in WBBL 2019 and we fancy their chances against the Melbourne Stars batters.

Melbourne Stars Women

The Melbourne Stars side was at the receiving end of a record-breaking partnership between Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry. That was not a match that any of the Stars bowlers would like to remember as they went for 199 runs without picking up a single wicket.

Now, their task against the Adelaide Strikers is not much easier.

Kristen Beams, Erin Osborne, Nicola Hancock, and Madeline Penna lead the bowling attack for the Stars. Neither of these players is among the top bowlers in Australia right now and that is a problem. There is a lack of experience as well as a lack of talent that is hurting the Melbourne Stars.

One of these bowlers needs to have an exceptionally good game to help give the Stars a chance.

The batting is a lot stronger and that is where the win has to come from. Lizelle Lee has already scored a century in this edition of the WBBL and is very dangerous at the top of the order. There is no stopping her once she gets going and she certainly has been in quite decent form.

Ellyse Villani is also a very good batter that has plenty of international experience and success to her name. if the pair of them can get the Stars off to a good start then a big total is not out of reach.

Mignon du Preez, Katey Martin, and Erin Osborne are all very decent batters as well.

The Melbourne Stars may not be as strong a batting side as the Adelaide Strikers but they are not to be taken lightly at all.

Pitch and Conditions

A clear day with lots of sun has been forecast for match day. The pitch at Adelaide is expected to be good for batting without anything much in it for the bowlers. If anything, the size of the outfield is on the bigger size and should help give the spinners something to work with.

A score of around 150 should be seen as par.

ADSW vs MLSW Betting Tips

We really like the chances of the Adelaide Strikers in this match and think they are going to be able to win with ease.
