Women's Big Bash League is more than halfway through and things are looking pretty interesting as far as points table is concerned. As per our expectations, Sydney Thunder, Sydney Sixers, and Adelaide Strikers are placed at the top three spots on the points table. Adelaide Strikers are just a spot behind Thunder, but are very much in contention to move to the top of the table should they win their upcoming match. They are set to play Perth Scorchers in their upcoming encounter, which is to be played on 9th November at Adelaide Oval. Perth Scorchers are placed at the second last spot on the ladder and will be looking to kick-start their campaign with a win in this upcoming fixture.
Adelaide Strikers had a poor start last to the tournament, but have picked up pace with a few quick wins in their last few mathches. They are currently placed at the second spot at the ladder with four wins to their name in six matches. They are coming off a clinical win over Brisbane Heat in their previous match and will be looking to rise to the top of the table with a win in their previous match.
Against Brisbane Heat, their bowlers bowled beautifully from the word go after their captain elected to bowl first after winning the toss. Barring Prince, all bowlers who were used by skipper Suzie Bates returned with a couple of wickets each. SJ Coyte, who returned with the figures of 22 for 2 was the pick of their bowlers.
Chasing a total of 140, the Strikers started rather poorly as they lost their prime all-rounder, Sophie Devine without too many runs on the board. Tahlia McGrath and Suzie Bates then combined to take Strikers to a reasonably good position before McGrath departed. There was no loss of wickets after that as Patterson and Bates got them across the line with six balls to spare.

Although the Scorchers are not a lot behind the rest of the teams on the points table if compared on points, they are languishing at the second last spot from the bottom. They have won just two matches out of a total of five played. Apart from that, they have a pretty poor net run rate of - 0.593, which is second worst only to Melbourne Stars, who are placed at the bottom spot.
Perth Scorchers have a top-heavy side and that has reflected in their performances as well. Whenever their batsmen have performed, top three to be precise, the Scorchers have managed to keep their opposition at bay. However, in all other matches, the Scorchers have ended up losing the match regardless of how their bowlers performed.
While almost teams in the tournament have managed to defeat the Stars with incredible ease, Perth Scorchers lost the match to them. The loss came in their previous match wherein the Scorchers failed to chase down a relatively easy total of 155, which was set by the Stars. The Scorchers have an apparent weakness in their bowling attack, which has often been offset by their potent top-order, but otherwise they lack balance in their middle order. Unless their batsmen can take them to a towering total, the Scorchers are likely to have a hard time in the upcoming fixture.

It's an important fixture for both the sides, albeit for different reasons. Perth Scorchers would want to win the match to rise at the ladder and get closer to the qualification. The Strikers, on the other hand, would love to win the upcoming contest and rise at the ladder. Comparing the two sides, the Strikers are a better unit both on paper and form-wise, and are therefore, better placed to emerge on top in the upcoming fixture.
