ADSW vs SYDW Match Prediction - Nov 14, 2020

The first round of WBBL matches this weekend have left the table very evenly poised. One one victory separates the teams from 2nd to the 7th position. The Adelaide Strikers are seventh on the table and need to win their next few matches desperately.

They are going to be playing against the Sydney Sixers, a team that has lost its previous three matches and is now sliding down the table rapidly. Another loss and we could see the Sixers in some real trouble.

The stakes are high for both teams then.

Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Sixers WBBL 2020 is going to be played at the Drummoyne Oval, Sydney on the 15th of November 2020.

ADSW vs SYDW Team Previews

Adelaide Strikers Women

The Adelaide Strikers would have been disappointed at their loss to Brisbane Heat in the previous match. There were many opportunities for the Strikers to get ahead in that match but that never ended up happening.

We thought the Strikers bowled very well to restrict Brisbane Heat to 136. Amanda Wellington ended up with four wickets to her name while Megan Schutt picked up two wickets as well.

The batting was too tentative, however, and never managed to put enough pressure on the opposition. Laura Wolvaardt failed to score in the previous match and in her absence, there was a distinct lack of dynamism that we observed.

Players like Stafanie Taylor, Katie Mack, and the others need to be more assertive with the bat whenever they get the chance as the Sydney Sixers are a pretty dangerous batting side.

Sydney Sixers Women

Three losses in a row is not what the Sixers wanted at this time in the tournament. Their good start has meant that they are still in the top-4 but they are well within the reach of the other teams now.

The bowling let it down in the previous match against the Hobart Hurricanes. None of the bowlers managed to get a single wicket to their names. The Sixers lost by nine wickets and the only wicket to fall was a run-out.

Elyse Perry top-scored with 72 but she could have batted a bit quicker. She took 68 balls to get to 72, which is a strike rate of just over 100. The women's game has improved significantly and this strike rate just does not cut it anymore.

Erin Burns tried to up the strike rate in the end but the Sixers could not get enough runs. It is starting to look like Alyssa Healy is more important to the fortunes of the Sixers than Elyse Perry.

Expect the team to hit back strong with some harsh words being said to the senior players. Marizanne Kapp, Dane van Niekerk, and Stella Campbell all need to look at themselves in the mirror and find a way to improve their bowling performances.

ADSW vs SYDW Toss Prediction

We think the team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. Getting to a good total and then applying pressure on the chasing team has been the successful strategy in the WBBL so far.

Pitch and Conditions

The conditions in Sydney are going to be good for cricket weather wise. There is no rain expected. As far as the pitch goes, we have seen a consistently slow but flat surface being dished out and the same can be expected for this match.

ADSW vs SYDW Betting Tips

We think that the Sydney Sixers should be able to strike back hard after its loss of form. It is definitely a better team than the Adelaide Strikers and we think it is just a matter of time before the Sixers start playing to their true potential.
