Afghanistan’s horror run in ODI cricket continued and it has now lost eleven consecutive matches. The West Indies suffered a few nervous moments in the second ODI but eventually cruised to victory and registered its first series victory in five years.
The third ODI has no real significance now since this is just a simple bilateral series whose result has been decided. The teams can experiment and look to try some new things as they continue their ODI rebuilding.
Afghanistan needs to shake things up and hope to develop some new players while the West Indies has an excellent chance to give its impressive bench strength a run as well.
Afghanistan vs West Indies 3rd ODI 2019 is going to be played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on the 11th of November 2019.
We saw an improved performance from Afghanistan in the previous match but it was nowhere close to what they needed to win the match. A nice fightback after the West Indian openers had got off to a good start and then again at the end of the inning kept the West Indians to 247.
This was not a big total and could have been chased quite easily by a better batting side.
Unfortunately, the Afghan batsmen were very disappointing. Hazratullah Zazai was adventurous during his stay at the crease, Javed Ahmadi failed again, and only Rahmat Shah seemed comfortable at the crease amongst the top order batsmen.
Afghanistan must change something about its batting after repeated failures. Either some new batsmen from the squad need to be brought in or the batting order needs to be shuffled around. There is nothing to lose at the moment and not trying something new would be a waste of opportunity.
It may also be time for some Afghan players to end their ODI careers but that is a discussion for after the series.
Naveen-ul Haq and Sharafuddin Ashraf had a good outing in the previous game while the spinners also managed to keep the runs down.
The same set of players can be expected to form the bowling attack and hopefully improve on their performances further.
Hazratullah Zazai, Ibrahim Zadran, R Shah, Ikram Ali Khil, Asghar Afghan, N Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Yamin Ahmadzai, Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
Hayden Walsh and Nicholas Pooran were the stars of the match for the West Indies as they wrapped up the series and we can expect some more youngsters to get a chance in the final match too. Youngsters coming through and performing well for the West Indies is a great sign looking at the future.
Shai Hope, Evin Lewis, Romario Shepherd, Sheldon Cottrell, and Roston Chase have also made a significant contribution in the series too. Shimron Hetmyer is the only batsman that would have been disappointed to not be in the runs this series.
Brandon King, Khary Pierre, Keemo Paul, and Sunil Ambris can all be tried out in the final match without really weakening the West Indian side too much. It will also ensure that the West Indies team does not become complacent because the new players are going to be keen to prove themselves.
This series win has been a long time coming and we are sure that Kieron Pollard would like to start his ODI captaincy career with a 3-0 victory.
Shai Hope, Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer, Kieron Pollard, Roston Chase, Keemo Paul, Hayden Walsh, Nicholas Pooran, Romario Shepherd, Brandon King, Alzarri Joseph.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bowl first and try to get the advantage of batting when the dew is falling

The weather forecast for Lucknow is very good and there is next to no chance of rain that has been predicted. The weather is going to be hot and continue to dry out the surface as the series continues.
The pitch in Lucknow showed signs of getting a bit slower in the second match and that is only going to continue in the final match too. The dew could make batting significantly easier in the second inning and make a bigger difference than it has so far.
Dream11 tips and Dream11 Prediction for Afghanistan vs West Indies 3rd ODI is going to assume that the West Indies side is going to give its bench a run. Some changes may need to be made to side as per the final playing eleven selected.

We think that the West Indian side is only beginning its rise up the ODI rankings while Afghanistan seems to be slipping in quality rapidly. It is very difficult to see Afghanistan avoid a 3-0 clean sweep in this series.
Bet on West Indies to win.
