Just as we predicted, Afghanistan utilized the conditions brilliantly to their advantage to level the three-match T20I series 1-1. The third match now is of massive importance and Afghansitan would love to take that and consequently the series to avenge their 3-0 defeat in the ODIs. West Indies, on the other hand, have looked only a shadow of what they are known for in the shortest version of the game. Both the sides do not have much time left to ponder upon the previous results and are expected to go in pretty much with the same strategy. Unlike the first two matches, which turned out to be rather one-sided affairs, this one promises to be a cracker of a contest.
Afghanistan needed to start perfectly in the second match of the series to have any chance against the potent West Indies' lineup, but they didn't. Afghanistan lost half of their side before the death overs and were staring at a paltry total before Gulbadin Naib bailed them out with his late fireworks.
They somehow crawled their way to 147, which they ended up defending with considerable ease. While batting did well to take them to a respectable total, it was their bowling which helped them defend the modest total. Karim Janat came into the lineup for his first match of the tour and he immediately made an impact.
He first lifted the team with his quick 26 off 18 after coming into bat at number three. However, it was with the ball he made all the difference. He gave away just 11 runs in his four overs and picked up five wickets in process. Thanks to Janat and Co. Afghanistan made the total of 147 look more like 200. With everything to play for on Sunday, we expect Afghanistan to come out a stronger unit with new found confidence from this win.

West Indies will be ruing this defeat of theirs considering they had a really straightforward chance to wrap up the series. Restricting Afghanistan was just what the doctor ordered for them. However, their batting failed them for the second time in the series as they fell short of the target by a colossal margin of 41 runs.
Kesrick Williams once against delivered with the ball as he returned with the imperious figures of 3 for 23 in his four overs. He was ably assisted by Windies' test skipper, Jason Holder, who picked up two for 23.
Their batting, however, succumbed to a non-existent scoreboard pressure as none of their batsmen looked to stay at the crease. Barring Denesh Ramdin, who scored 24 off 27 deliveries, all of their batsmen perished in an attempt to go for the glory. All in all, West Indies certainly have the talent to pull of any miracle on their day, but they'd have to handle the pressure better. If they can utilize the experience available at their disposal, beating them is not going to be easy for the hosts.

After a hard tussle in two matches, all rests on the final T20I of the series. Both the teams have had their moments in the series so far and will be looking to step up their game to take the series. Performance wise, both the teams have gone neck and neck in the series so far. However, on paper, Afghanistan appear to have more number of experience T20 specialists, and considering the odds they have, they will be our pick as the winner of the upcoming game.
