The batting has been one of the weakest aspects of the Indian Maharajas this season, as except for Gautam Gambhir, none of the batsmen seem to be playing well. Gambhir, who is the captain of the team, has led from the front, scoring half-centuries in both matches so far.
Robin Uthappa and Mohammad Kaif got a decent start in the last match but failed to convert them into a big inning. However, the big names in Indian T20 cricket, Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan haven’t been able to get going. Stuart Binny has struggled with the bat. Harbhajan Singh has been the pick of the bowlers from India Maharajas, picking up 2 wickets each in both matches.
Parwinder Awana was quite impressive in the opening match, getting 2 wickets but was benched in favor of Pragyan Ojha, who failed to impress. The seamers, Irfan Pathan, Ashok Dinda, and Stuart Binny will need to bowl a better line and length if they want to limit the Asia Lions to a modest total.
