The Asia Lions reached the finals in the inaugural season of the Legends League where they were defeated by the Giants. They will now be eager to avenge that loss in this match.
The Lions played their opening match of the season against India Maharajas last Friday. Choosing to bat first, the Lions seemed to be struggling as they lost 2 wickets with just 18 runs on the board. However, Upul Tharanga and Misbah ul-Haq built up a solid partnership for the third wicket, putting up 108 runs and helping the Lions put up a fighting total of 165-6 in 20 overs.
Misbah in particular was in excellent form as he reached 50 in just 35 deliveries. However, the Lions will be hoping for a better performance from their power hitters, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Shahid Afridi in this match. Thisara Perera and Abdul Razzaq are two all-rounders on the team, who are capable of playing cameos toward the end of an inning.
The Giants have two quality left-arm seamers in the form of Sohail Tanvir and Isuru Udana, while Afridi and Dilshan can chip in during the middle overs. The Giants have two world-class bowlers in the form of Shoaib Akhtar and Muttiah Muralitharan in their reserves and it remains to be seen how the team uses them in the upcoming matches.

Just like the Asia Lions, the World Giants began their campaign on a winning note by defeating the India Maharajas in their season opener.
Skipper Aaron Finch and Shane Watson appeared to be in good form right from the word go, as they scored individual half-centuries and stitched a match-winning partnership of 88 for the second wicket. The Giants have Chris Gayle and Ross Taylor in the squad and both are capable of scoring some quick runs during the Powerplay.
Jacques Kallis and Shane Watson add stability to the middle order and are also reliable with the ball and can pick up wickets at regular intervals. However, the lower middle order consisting of Kevin O’Brien, Tino Best, and Morne van Wyk is a bit of a weak link for the Giants.
When it comes to bowling, the Giants have plenty of options as they used as many as 7 bowlers in the match against the Maharajas. Brett Lee and Tino Best are expected to open the bowling with the new ball, while Monty Panesar and Ricardo Powell are the two specialist spinners in the team.
Powell was in good form during the opening game as he picked up 2 wickets for 16 runs. Overall, the Giants have a well-balanced side with plenty of options in bowling as well as batting.
