As we are moving towards the business end of the tournament in T20 Mumbai League - 2019, things are slowly but steadily beginning to get clearer. While Shivaji Park Lions are still not out of the contest, they pretty much need to win every game from here on which is certainly not an easy task considering the form they've shown so far. Up next in the tournament, they are set to take on Aakash Tigers MWS, who even though have not played best of cricket thus far, but are still pretty much in the hunt. The two teams are set to meet on Thursday at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
For the Tigers, the upcoming fixture would be more or less about securing a playoff spot. Another two wins here should probably ascertain their playoff spot, one of which they'll be eyeing in the upcoming fixture.
Tigers had a terrific start to the tournament with both their batting and bowling doing well, but they lost their way in between then and until their last match. However, they finally registered a much-needed win in their last match where they defeated North Mumbai Panthers by a comfortable margin of six wickets.
Batting second, the Tigers were set a total of 170 runs to chase. While the total shouldn't have been too difficult to chase down already, a fine platform provided by their openers made the job ever so easy for their middle-order batsmen. Overall, the Tigers are pretty well-balanced unit and will be looking to extend their winning run to multiple matches, contrary to what happened after their last win.

Although the Lions still have a slight chance mathematically, the pragmatic probability for them to qualify for the playoffs isn't even a hair more than zero. They have so far failed in all of their matches and are currently placed at the bottom of the table with zero wins from four matches.
They are coming off a heart-wrenching defeat in their last match where SoBo SuperSonics crushed them by a massive margin of 35 runs. On a batting friendly surface of Wankhede, their bowlers did phenomenally well to keep SuperSonics down to just 150. However, their fragile batting lineup was on display yet again as they failed to score at even a run a ball.
Overall, the Lions have struggled in almost all departments of the game thus far in the tournament, even more so with the bat. Practically, they are already out of contention and are playing only for pride. Teams are often most dangerous to face when they have nothing to lose and it isn't going to be easy against the Lions either.

Considering the disparity of performance between two sides in the tournament thus far as their performances are concerned. However, there is not a lot of difference between the two sides, on paper. Momentum usually plays a massive role in the shortest format of the game and therefore we think that the Tigers are better placed to win the upcoming match and progress closer to the playoff spot.
