AUS vs ENG Team Previews

Australia

Australia is going through a transition phase and it will be interesting to see if it makes the tough calls that it did not while picking its T20 team. There is still a lot of dependence on David Warner in the top order but there is an opportunity for the rest of the batting lineup to be a bit more dynamic.

Cameron Green or Travis Head could be the second opener with a license to attack with Mitchell Marsh, Marcus Stoinis, and Alex Carey all providing power in the middle. Steve Smith will continue to play ODI cricket as he has and you can almost bank on him to be consistent.

Australia's bowling is world-class. It did not have the best time in the T20 World Cup but it would be a bit premature to write it off. Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood, and Adam Zampa are all sure to play but Mitchell Starc may find himself under pressure.

England

England is the current ODI and the T20 World Champion. This is the first time that a team has held both titles and it is the result of some revolutionary changes that England has made. It is the strongest batting team in terms of depth and it has managed to inculcate a brilliant sense of freedom in its batters.

As a result, players like Jos Buttler, Phil Salt, Moeen Ali, and Sam Curran can bat with a fantastic attacking mindset. Of course, this is a 50-over contest and so there is room for players like James Vince, Dawid Malan, and Sam Billings that can play a more conventional role in the team as well.

England has no shortage of batters to choose from and it also has a number of all-rounders to extend its batting lineup. Almost all of its bowlers can bat and that can be crucial in the 50-over format.

England's bowling lineup is a bit underpowered. Chris Woakes, Sam Curran, and Chris Jordan have a tremendous amount of experience and Adil Rashid has been in great form as well. However, there is no bowler that is express pace to hurry up the batters. If there is a lack of swing, then the English bowlers could suffer.<br />

AUS vs ENG Toss Prediction

The team that wins the toss is likely to want to bat first. Statistically, there is a slight advantage to batting first but we don't think the toss is going to be particularly important at this venue.

Pitch and Conditions

The weather forecast for this match is brilliant. There is no rain predicted and the temperatures should be very comfortable as well. The pitch is generally very good for batting and the short boundaries make it perfect for the big hitters. We think 300 is absolutely on the cards for both teams.

AUS vs ENG Betting Tips

We think England is available at excellent odds right now. Australia is the home team but England has shown itself to be very capable in these conditions itself. We think England's batting is more dynamic and its bowling is quite canny. Australia is vulnerable right now and could be put under pressure.

Bet on England to win.
