The ODI series ended up 2-1 in favor of the Australians and it was a well-deserved result. They dominated INdia from the very start with their top-order batsmen being the difference. Now, the focus shifts to the T20 series, and in a lot of ways, this is the most important format of this tour.
There are two T20 World Cup tournaments on the horizon and both the teams will want to start locking down their lineups for that.
Australia is going to be without David Warner and Pat Cummins for this series. We saw how big a difference that made in the third ODI and it will definitely leave the home side a bit hamstrung. India is also without Rohit Sharma, arguably, its best T20 batsman in recent years.
Starting strong is going to be very important again.
Australia vs India 1st T20 2020 is going to be played at the Manuka Oval, Canberra on the 4th of December 2020.
Winning the ODI series has been an excellent start to the summer for Australia and it will be very confident going into this series. Most of the places in the Australian team settle themselves but there are a few questions that need to be answered.
Australia needs to figure out who is going to partner Aaron Finch at the top of the order now that David Warner is not there. We think Matthew Wade is the person that will get an opportunity. He has been very successful in the BBL by playing the role of an out and out aggressor at the top of the order.
Expect him to go very hard from the very start.
Darcy Short is also a good option available to Australia but we think he may have to wait his turn.
Steve Smith will take up his position at number three and just look to continue in the manner he batted during the ODI’s. It will be interesting to see how he goes in the shortest format of the game after he struggled in the IPL.
Glenn Maxwell, Alex Carey, and maybe Moises Henriques should form the middle-order.
Maxwell is in stunning form and will be one of the biggest threats to the Indian bowling.
There is a little room for experimentation in the lower order as Australia needs to choose between Cameron Green and Sean Abbott, Andrew Tye and Mitchell Starc, and whether they want to play two spinners or one.
The Australian team is very strong and is going to be hard to beat.
Aaron Finch, D'Arcy Short, Matthew Wade, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Moises Henriques, Sean Abbott, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Swepson, Adam Zampa, JR Hazlewood.
The last time India played a T20 series, it managed to register a clean sweep against New Zealand in New Zealand. That is not a small feat but things have changed from that time. India now needs to get serious about its preparation for the T20 World Cup.
Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul are going to open the inning, although, this is perhaps the perfect format for someone like Mayank Aggarwal. He may not get a chance in this series at all.
Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer are locked in to the 3 and 4 spots for the immediate future although Shreyas Iyer must know that he cannot take his position for granted. Manish Pandey is also in a similar situation and will need to perform in every chance that he gets.
Sanju Samson was very impressive in the IPL and we hope he gets at least one chance in the middle order to show what he is capable of.
Either way, the Indian batting order is very strong especially with Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja to follow.
The bowling lineup is one where we could see some surprises. Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Deepak Chahar, and T Natrajan are the bowlers that we think India is going to start with.
Mohammad Shami and Navdeep Saini had a very poor ODI series that could count against them.
India has a settled lineup for the most part but a number of its players are going to under pressure to perform. How they respond to that will determine who India does in this series.
Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, V Kohli, Manish Pandey, Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Shami, T Natarajan.
The team that wins the toss is likely to want to bat first. The Manuka Oval is a very good venue for the batsmen and setting a big score is going to be on the minds of both teams. Either way, though, the pitch is not going to change much and remain the same for both teams.

We have seen just how good a batting wicket the Manuka Oval was. It had a little bit of extra bounce in it that gave the bowlers something to work with as well. Another batting beauty is expected for this match with the boundary on one side pretty short as well.
A score of around 180 may be par for this venue.

We are going to go with the Indians in this match. They have a very good batting lineup and are coming into this match with a lot of T20 cricket behind them. The absence of David Warner and Pat Cummins makes Australia a lot more beatable than otherwise. Also, Mitchell Starc has been very ineffective in the matches he has played, which is another big headache for the home team.
Bet on India to win.
There is just something about Adam Zampa that the Indians cannot figure out. He keeps on taking wickets against them for fun and we think he is going to be a factor in this T20 series as well.
A rate of over 2.5x for him taking two wickets is well worth the risk.
This is the format that KL Rahul is the most comfortable in. He bats at his preferred position and is able to set the pace of the game. He was brilliant in the IPL and ended up as its highest run-getter. He is also ranked in the top batsmen of the world in the T20 format.
We think he should be able to get a good score for India and help you win this bet in the process.
We expect this to be a high-scoring match with a lot of boundaries and hits over the fence. The small boundary on side of the pitch will also help the batsmen score sixes with ease. One or two batsmen getting in is all that is going to take to get past this total.
