The first leg of India’s tour to Australia 2020 is the ODI series. This series, unlike others in the past, is a part of the ODI Super League where every match carries vital points. Since this is the manner in which teams will qualify for the next World Cup, every match carries significance.
Both teams are coming into this series on the back of long layoffs from international cricket. The Indian cricket team has not played a match in nearly nine months while Australia had a short limited-overs tour to England a few months back.
The leading players from both sides, though, have been active in the IPL and so come with plenty of practice in recent times.
Can India overcome the loss of Rohit Sharma in this series? Will Australia manage to make the most of home conditions? A mouth-watering clash awaits.
Australia vs India 1st ODI 2020 is going to be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney on the 27th of November 2020.
The most recent series that Australia played was a three match series against England. They managed to win that 2-1, a feat not easily achieved against England. They will take the confidence of that win into this next series and we think that Australia will follow a similar template in this series as well.
The means a batting lineup that features David Warner, Aaron Finch, Marcus Stoinis, Marnus Labuschagne, Alex Carey, and Glenn Maxwell.
Mitchel Starc, Josh Hazelwood, and Pat Cummins will take up the pace bowling duties alongside Adam Zampa. There is only one place empty as Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the series.
We think that is going to go to Cameron Green because of bowling abilities but literally any kind of player can slot in. That is the beauty of this Australian lineup. They have six-seven regular bowlers and a very long batting lineup.
In home conditions, they are going to be very tough to beat.
Aaron Finch, David Warner, Steven Smith, Marcus Stoinis, Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, JR Hazlewood.
India is a very strong ODI team. Even without Rohit Sharma, there is a lot of batting depth and class in that lineup. There have been some changes in the batting lineup over the last few months and we think India is going to continue making some improvements.
It appears as if Lokesh Rahul is the first-choice wicketkeeper in this format, which opens up a spot for another player in the team. The return of Hardik Pandya into the lineup should also help add balance.
He did not bowl in the IPL but may be fit to bowl now. Even if he does not bowl, he is a power-hitter that has no other equal in the Indian team.
We expect Shikhar Dhawan to open the batting with Mayank Aggarwal for this match. Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Navdeep Saini, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, and Yuzvendra Chahal complete the lineup.
We think India is one batsman short. Pandya at 6 may be a position too high for him, however, if he does not bowl, India has to play five bowlers. That makes Jadeja an absolute certainty in the side.
India must hope that he and Pandya combine to be able to provide the batting depth needed in Australia.
India’s top-order is very strong, headlined by Virat Kohli, and the team has no option but to bank on them performing. The bowling is pretty good as well. There is a lot of pace, spin variation, and the best death bowler in the world.
Shikhar Dhawan, Mayank Agarwal, V Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Lokesh Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, YS Chahal, NA Saini, JJ Bumrah.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. Getting runs on the board is probably going to be the plan for both the teams as we do not expect any great grass left on the surface for this match.

The SCG is a high-scoring ODI venue. The surface is flat and does not have too much bounce in it either. It can actually be a bit slow on occasion and that may end up playing into the Indian team's hands. The forecast for the match is very good and there should be no rain-related interruptions.
We think a score of around 280-300 can be seen as par for the surface.
Dream11 team and Dream11 tips for Australia vs India 1st ODI
It is always tough starting out a tour especially without a practise match in the middle. India is going to be tested without Rohit Sharma and adapting to the team changes it will have to make. There is no doubt that its batting lineup is dangerous but Australia has more depth in both the batting and bowling department.
We think the home team is the one to back in this match.
Bet on Australia to win.
Once again, the odds for this bet are phenomenal. Australia is a much more powerful batting lineup in terms of six-hitting. All of its players tend to go to the areal route much more often. India’s best batsmen are better boundary hitters and although they can clear the boundaries easily, they are not usually prolific six-hitters.
Take the money!
These are excellent odds for a match between two of the strongest batting sides in the world on a pitch that is expected to be absolutely flat. Any of the batsmen on either side could get to three figures and help you net a healthy profit. This is the one bet we would place above all others for this match.
The one man whose form has been impressive at every stage of the IPL, Lokesh Rahul comes into this series red hot. He has been striking the ball cleanly and is one of the few batsmen in the Indian team that seems to hit sixes naturally. We think it is more than likely that he will get at least one hit over the fence and that is all you need to win this bet.
