The start of the test summer in Australia is an exciting event all around the cricketing world even when everything is progressing as is usual. For this series, the eyes of the world will be glued to the series for a number of interesting small battles being played out. David Warner will try to find his test form after being humiliated by Stuart Broad, Azhar Ali will take charge of a Pakistan Test side with three teenage-quicks in the squad, and Steve Smith will look to continue his peerless batting form.
Can Pakistan pull off an upset at the Gabba, a venue where Australia has not lost since 1988? This is also the first World Test Championship match for Pakistan adding further relevance to the series.
The weather is expected to be perfect and we can hope for some hard-fought cricket after the one-sided victories Australia has been handed so far.
Australia vs Pakistan 1st Test 2019 is going to be played at The Gabba, Brisbane starting on the 21st of November 2019.
We know the final playing eleven for the Australia team since they announce it a couple of days prior to the start of the test match. Joe Burns is going to reprise his role as the opening batsman alongside David Warner, Travis Head continues to get chances at number five, and Mitchell Starc is back for the start of the first test match after James Pattinson has been ruled out for disciplinary reasons.
Australia is a strong team anywhere but it is very difficult to beat at home. Steve Smith and David Warner are almost unstoppable on these surfaces and churn out hundreds routinely. We all know that Steve Smith is going to be the focus of the batting but he is surrounded by a lot of talent alongside.
Marnus Labuschagne has done well at number three, Matthew Wade was very impressive in England at number six, and all of the tail-enders can bat as well. Bowling this Australia side is not going to be easy even if you get a few early wickets.
The four best bowlers in the country have been picked for this match in our opinion. Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood, and Nathan Lyon walk into any test match bowling combination. It also appears as if Mitchell Starc has done enough to show his red-ball skills are getting back to their best as well.
There is enough pace in this bowling unit to unsettle the Pakistani batsmen and enough talent to make the most of any help that the surface offers. Australia was beaten at home by India in the previous summer but that was without David Warner and Steve Smith.
This is an Australian side that is at full-strength and in its traditional stronghold.
Joe Burns , David Warner, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, TM Head, Matthew Wade, Tim Paine, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Michael Lyon, JR Hazlewood.
It is remarkable how much color Pakistan contributes to the game of cricket. Dashing batsmen, characters on the field, and some of the most fearsome fast-bowlers in the history of the game. They also tend to throw in their teenagers into the deep-end without too much first-class experience.
It looks like 16-year old Naseem Shah is going to be the latest in this line of talented young men to get a chance early in test-cricket.
Pakistan’s bowling attack is pretty short on experience but not on talent. Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Abbas, and Yasir Shah seem certain to be picked for the first test. The final bowling slot could be between Naseem Shah and Imran Khan, where we personally feel that Naseem Shah will get the nod.
This means that Pakistan is going into the first test with a leg-spinner that was taken apart the last time he was here, an untested and raw debutant, and a left-handed quick that can be quite inconsistent at times.
We would love to believe in the romance of this strategy working but we don’t think it will succeed. Pakistan is going to struggle to get 20 wickets in this match and possibly in this series.
The Pakistani batting has some serious challenges ahead of it as well. Shan Masood, Azhar Ali, Haris Sohail, Babar Azam, Asad Shafiq, and Iftikhar Ahmed will likely for the top-6. This is not a strong lineup by any stretch.
Once again, the possibility of something great from the bat of Babar Azam and Azhar Ali is always there. Babar has been in terrific form and is scoring runs everywhere. He also has a lot to prove in test cricket where he sometimes fails to convert his starts or gets out early too often.
Mohammad Rizwan is going to be the all-rounder at 7 and that makes us question the depth of this lineup. Batting has become easier in Australia over the last few years and Pakistan has more experience to call upon but it is still going to be tested severely in outscoring the Australians.
Shan Masood, Azhar Ali, Haris Sohail, Asad Shafiq, Iftikhar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Yasir Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Imran Khan.
The team that wins the toss is going to be tempted to bowl first because of the grass on the pitch. It is possible to lose the test on the first morning and this is why we think Pakistan will definitely bowl first if it gets the chance to choose. Australia could go either way.

The pitch at the Gabba has a nice tinge of green and is expected to retain that for the start of the test. There is going to be plenty of pace and bounce in the wicket which will make the fast-bowlers very happy. The trick here is not getting too excited at seeing the bounce because that can provide a lot of scoring opportunities to the batsmen also.
Run-Scoring should be comfortable from the second day on.
The weather is predicted to be excellent for the duration of the test match.
Dream11 Team and Dream11 Prediction for Australia vs Pakistan 1st test match is pretty straightforward. We are going to pick the entire Aussie fast bowling unit, the Australia top-order, and sprinkle in some Pakistani pace-bowling picks. Babar Azam and Azhar Ali are the two Pakistani batsmen worth picking in the side in our opinion.

We think that the Australian team is much stronger than Pakistan right now. It has some weaknesses in the batting lineup but playing at home will help cover them up. There is much more experience in the Australian side and we expect them to dominate Pakistan in this test.
