AUSW vs ENGW Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Feb 05, 2022

The Australian women have retained the Women's Ashes 2022 with a win in the first ODI. They are now going to be looking to further reinstate their superiority in the matches that are remaining. England has come close in this series but has always fallen short. It seems a bit cruel that it is still without a single win to its name but that is exactly what will go down in the record books.

The best they can hope for is to try and win the ODI series. All the cricket betting sites are making them a pretty big underdog in this contest.

Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Australia Women vs England Women 2nd ODI Women's Ashes 2022. The match is going to be played at the Junction Oval, Melbourne on the 6th of February 2022.

AUSW vs ENGW Team Previews

Australia Women

Australia Women have been outstanding in this series, no matter what the format. They have the batting lineup to be able to put up a good total even if they end up losing a few early wickets. Beth Mooney scored 73 from the number 5 batting position even as none of the other batters managed to get a good result.

Haynes, Healy, Lanning, and McGarth form the core of the batting lineup, and each one of them is a genuine match-winner. We have yet to see the best of the Australian batting in our opinion and this is where we think the team holds a massive advantage over England.

Megan Schutt and Darcie Brown bowled brilliantly in the previous match to break the back of the batting lineup.

The Aussie bowling is perhaps not as strong as it once was now that Elyse Perry seems to have gone past her best but it should be more than enough to get the better of the English lineup.

Australia Women Playing 11

Rachael Haynes, Alyssa Healy, Meg Lanning, Ellyse Perry, T McGrath, Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, Nicola Carey, Jess Jonassen, Alana King, Megan Schutt.

England Women

England would be disappointed at having fallen short of so many opportunities to win a match on this tour. The team has really played aggressively and without fear but that has not been enough.

We saw the batting lineup post a record total in the first T20 but ended up losing. England came within a whisker of winning the Test Match and had to settle for a draw. The first ODI also saw England bowl Australia out cheaply but then fall short in the chase.

If this best that England can produce is not enough for a win then there really is no reason to bet on it. You may think that this is the time when England finally gets through but we think now that En gland has no motivation to win the Women’s Ashes, its performance is going to go down.

The depth in the batting is not enough to challenge Australia and the bowling lineup has failed to get the beter of Australia’s batters even once. Why should you put your money on it happening now?

England Women Playing 11

Lauren Winfield, Tammy Beaumont, Heather Knight, Natalie Sciver, Amy Ellen Jones, Sophia Dunkley Brown, Danielle Wyatt, Charlotte Dean, Sophie Ecclestone, Kate Cross, Anya Shrubsole.

Pitch and Conditions

There is no rain predicted in Melbourne and so we should have an uninterrupted match to enjoy. The pitch at the Junction Oval is excellent for batting. The outfield is quite quick and so we could see a high-scoring match.

We think a score of around 200-220 is the least that teams batting first are going to aim for.

AUSW vs ENGW Betting Tips

We are going to bet on Australia Women to win this match. They have not loist a single match in the entire tour so far. They have also won the Women’s Ashes and so England’s motivation to try and get something for this series is going to be hampered. Australia’s superior batting depth should end up being the difference once more.

Bet on Australia Women to win.
