Australia Women

Beth Mooney and Meg Lanning are certainly the two best batters on a very talented Aussie squad, as Mooney scored a huge 133 in the third and 57* in the second. Lanning, similarly, made 67 in the first and 72 in the third match.

Outside these two, the middle order and lower order batters didn’t do much, perhaps because they’re a bit out of practice after not batting at all during the first two games. We thought Gardner and Sutherland would be far more helpful with the bat. Schutt and Garth were quite ineffective as bowlers, with neither taking a wicket and giving up a combined 60 runs.

Gardner was way more helpful as a bowler by taking 3/30, and Jonassen was useful with 2/25. Still, the Aussie bowlers found things a lot more competitive.

Pakistan Women

Pakistan was a bit embarrassing in the first two matches, but it’s great to see them playing harder in the third game, as even though they lost by 101 runs, they still bowled fairly well and batted great. It was certainly a group effort, as no batter made over 50 runs, but everyone chipped in with decent scores, including Dar (29), Maroof (44), and Ameen (34).

The bowling picked up a lot more, as the team managed to take 9 wickets despite giving up 336 runs. Sana was the standout with 3/53 after 10 overs.
