The change in the format did not make much difference to the result as Australia women continued their dominance over Sri Lanka women. Now, it is once again a must-win match for Sri Lanka as the second ODI of the series approaches.
Each and every ODI in women’s cricket has relevance because of an ongoing cycle towards World Cup Qualification. We are certain that Australia is not going to be taking its foot off the pedal and giving Sri Lanka any respite.
Australia Women vs Sri Lanka Women 2nd ODI 2019 is going to be played at the Allan Border Field, Brisbane on the 7th of October 2019.
The longer format of the game finally allowed some of the lower order Australia batters chance to get in the scoring and Meg Lanning was the one to make the most of her chance. Her and Beth Mooney made fifty-plus scores to make sure that Australia ended up with a large total of 281.
Rachel Haynes also scored a fifty opening the batting and looked very fluent.
There are so many brilliant batters in this Australian lineup that it really does not matter who bats where. AT least two or three of the batters are going to score runs in every match and Australia will end up getting to a competitive total.
Tayla Vlaeminck, Jess Jonassen, and Ashleigh Gardner took two wickets each while Ellyse Perry and Georgia Wareham took one a piece to make sure Sri Lanka did not come anywhere near the target they were set.
It never looked like Australia was stretched or even got out of second gear, much like what we have seen in this series so far.

Sri Lanka’s women tried their best in the first ODI, that much was apparent. The fielding was sharp, the bowlers were putting in a lot of effort and the batters also made a concerted effort to stand their ground for as long as possible.
In the end, though, it turned out to be well short of what they need.
We just don’t think that Sri Lanka women’s cricket team is capable of beating Australia women in these conditions. They simply don’t have the talent to do so and individual brilliance can only carry them so far.
The likes CHamari Athapaththu, Udeshikka Prabodhani, and Harshitha Madavi are all decent players. They don’t have the support they need or the support structure to allow them to win more matches for Sri Lanka.
It will take something catastrophic from Australia for Sri Lanka to be able to win an ODI in this series and we just don’t see that happening.
Chamari Atapattu, Anushka Sanjeewani, Harshitha Madavi, Dilani Manodara, Shashikala Siriwardene, Nilakshi de Silva, Ama Kanchana, Sugandika Kumari, Udeshika Prabodhani, Achini Kulasuriya, Inoka Ranaweera.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first

The Allan Border Field threw up a surface that was excellent for bating and the same is expected for the next match. We don’t think the weather is going to be a concern at all looking at the forecast for match day.
There are plenty of runs to be had and we think Australia could end up scoring well above 300 if they bat first again.
Australia women to win does not have any attractive odds to take care of but there is nothing to suggest that an upset might be in the offing. Take the boring route and stick with Australia women to win.
Bet on Australia women to win.
