Bangladesh is about to play its second match of the T20 series against Afghanistan. We can’t help but think that the home team is going to be very nervous about playing this match. They have just lost to Afghanistan in a test match and then needed a miraculous recovery to be able to eat Zimbabwe.
All of the good work that Bangladesh had done in the World Cup seems to have disappeared. Afghanistan hammered Zimbabwe in its opening match and is going to be in great spirits ahead of this match. It has a number of players very experienced in T20 cricket and ply their trade around the world.
Bangladesh vs Afghanistan T20 match is going to be played at the Shere Bangla Stadium, Dhaka on the 15th of September 2019.
Bangladesh did well to reduce Zimbabwe to 63 for the loss of five wickets after which they did not get a single wicket and allowed the score to reach 144. That was a below-par total that Bangladesh had to chase and they almost made a meal of it.
At 60 for 6 in 9.3 overs and almost all the recognized batsmen back in the hut, Zimbabwe would have been sensing a victory. Atif Hossain, though, played the inning of his life and helped Bangladesh pull off a very unlikely victory.
He scored 52 off just 26 balls with eight boundaries and one six. Mosaddek Hossain also played a mature inning of 30 not out to ensure that Bangladesh did not have to suffer a major embarrassment.
There is no way around it, though, Bangladesh played the way that an associate nation might and after all these years, it is just unacceptable. They will not be able to win against Afghanistan if they play like this.
The batsmen need to take responsibility starting with Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim. Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mahmudullah, and Sabbir Rahman have been around for long enough to know what is required of them. On paper, this seems like a good batting attack but they will need to be at their best against the Afghan spinners.
Shakib Al Hasan was very expensive against Zimbabwe and the best of the bowlers was actually Mossadek Hossain. We think Taijul Islam might be the bowler to watch out for alongside Mustafizu Rahman.

A stunning batting performance headlined by seven consecutive sixes in their inning at one point of time showed just how much this format suits the Afghanistan team. They have big hitters like Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Mohammad Nabi, and Najibullah Zadran in their side.
All they need is to now get some consistency in their lineup and we think they could be a force in the T20 World Cup a few months away.
The Afghans are not going to take a backward step in this match. They are going to come out all guns blazing and that can be a double-edged sword. If it comes off, it looks very good but it can look extremely daft on the days that the batting fails.
Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman are the two obvious threats in this bowling attack. Rashid Khan becomes very difficult while defending a big score because the batsmen have no option but to go after him. In case he is defending a small total or bowling first, then he can be played out safely by the opposition.
Karim Janat and Mohammad Nabi did a good job in the previous match as well giving the Afghanistan side plenty of bowling options to fall back upon.

The team winning the toss is going to want to bat first to take advantage of the best batting conditions in the entire match.

Bangladesh vs Afghanistan T20 match is going to be played at the Shere Bangla Stadium, Dhaka on the 15th of September 2019. There is some rain around in Bangladesh and we could have some interruptions. Hopefully, though, we can get a full game in between two pretty evenly matched sides.
The pitch at Dhaka is conducive to batting in the first inning but gets slower and more difficult to score on in the second inning.
Dream11 team and Dream11 prediction for Bangladesh vs Afghanistan Tri-series 2019.
We think the team batting first is going to have a huge advantage so that must be taken into account. Before knowing what happens at the toss, though, we think that Afghanistan has a very good chance of winning. It seems to have the mental edge over Bangladesh right now and is also in excellent form.
Bet on Afghanistan to win.
