India’s unbeaten run at the ICC World Cup 2019 has come to an end. It lost in the last match against England in a manner which has raised some serious questions about the batting order. That loss has dented the hopes of both Pakistan and Bangladesh more than it hurt India itself and this is why India is not going to be too worried just yet.
India will now play Bangladesh in what is another must-win match for its opponent.
Bangladesh has impressed everyone with its cricket in the ICC World Cup 2019 and no one can think of it as a lesser cricketing nation. The Bangladeshis need to win their last two matches, including the one against India, to have any hope of reaching the semi-final stage.
The two sides met in the warm-up fixture as well but no one is going to give to much importance to that result. There are experienced players on both sides and they are quite well versed with the strengths and weaknesses of each other. Bangladesh has no option but to come hard at India and try to win.
Bangladesh vs India ICC World Cup 2019 is going to be played at Edgbaston, Birmingham on 2nd July 2019.
Bangladesh is on 6th position in the league table right now with three wins from seven matches. This gives it seven points and a net run-rate that is not too bad. For Bangladesh to qualify, not only must it win both its remaining matches but also hope that New Zealand can beat England.
First things first, though, and that is the match against India.
Beating India is not going to be easy for Bangladesh and they will know this better than anyone else. The victory against India in 2007 was a huge result but Bangladesh is no longer an unknown quality. It cannot hope to catch India off-guard and spring a surprise. It has to beat India through better cricket.
Bangladesh has been led by its senior cricketers in the ICC World Cup 2019, namely, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim. Shakib has 476 runs to his name at an average of 95.20 while Mushfiqur has 327 runs at an average of 65.
These two are the most important batsmen for Bangladesh and will be required to score against India as well. The opening partnership has been a problem. Tamim Iqbal has not been able to get off to good starts and Soumya Sarkar has disappointed after one good match.
Bangladesh tried to send Liton Das at the opening slot and push Soumya Sarkar down the order in their previous match but we don’t think they are going to try that again. Liton Das has been very good in the lower order and will surely return to his place against India.
Shakib Al Hasan is also the leading wicket-taker for Bangladesh followed by Mohammad Saifuddin. The match against India is being played at Edgbaston where the pitch is going to turn. Shakib, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Mustafizur Rahman are going to be the bowlers to look at in this match.
Bangladesh definitely has the team to challenge and beat India. All it needs is to believe in itself and hope for some luck along the way.
Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Liton Das, Mosaddek Hossain, Sabbir Rahman, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mashrafe Mortaza, Rubel Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman.
A very strange performance by India saw them lose their first match of the ICC World Cup 2019 against England. They lost an important toss and had to bowl first but were put to the sword by the English batsmen but it was the complete lack of intent during the batting which baffled us the most.
27 runs from the first ten overs when you are chasing 337 is just not going to work.
The loss of Shikhar Dhawan has made life difficult for India and now there may be an injury to Lokesh Rahul as well. The latest news from the camp is that Vijay Shankar has been ruled unfit and so Mayank Aggarwal has been named as a replacement for him.
Mayank Aggarwal has had some success with the test side but we are not sure why is it that he is being drafted into the team ahead of Ambati Rayadu unless it is as a cover for Lokesh Rahul.
India’s ODI strategy has been outdated in the tournament. They have started slow and then relied on their bowling attack to squeeze the opposition. The batting has just kept them in the game, not won them matches.
Against a team like England, India’s lack of batting firepower came into focus and we think they will have no option but to make some changes.
Winning against Bangladesh is far from a foregone conclusion. Lokesh Rahul is struggling, the middle order is under pressure, and it seems like the onus of scoring runs falls only on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Both of them have had a great ICC World Cup 2019 so far but that does not mean they cannot fail.
India’s batting is going to come against Bangladesh searching for some answers and may find the going tough.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were attacked mercilessly by the England batsmen. They managed to pull things back in their second stints but the damage had already been done. Mohammad Shami also picked up five wickets but gave away 44 runs in his last three overs.
That inability to keep the runs in check during the end overs was the difference between winning and losing.
Jasprit Bumrah bowled magnificently but did not get too many wickets to show for his record. His place as the best bowlers in the world is certain. India must also try to get some overs out of Kedar Jadhav more regularly since teams are trying to target Hardik Pandya from the start.
Overall, one loss to England does not make India a bad team. Bangladesh is more the kind of opponent that India has success against but it will still need to e at its best to get the result it wants.
Rohit Sharma, Lokesh Rahul, V Kohli, RR Pant, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, YS Chahal, JJ Bumrah.
The team winning the toss is going to want to bat first. The pitch is going to turn a lot and become difficult for batting as the game progresses.

India vs Bangladesh ICC World Cup 2019 is going to be played at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The weather has improved in England and we can expect another sunny day to watch cricket in. The pitch used between India and England was a fresh one. It started out as being good for batting but took spin and slowed down appreciably.
We think spin is going to play a major factor in this match and batting second is going to quite tough. Teams will not want to chase anything over 280.
The Dream11 team for India vs Bangladesh ICC World Cup 2019 is going to be interesting to make. Bangladesh cannot afford to lose this match and India is going to be facing the pressure after its poor performance in the previous match as well. We are also fairly confident that the pitch at Edgbaston is going to be slower than what we saw in the India vs England match and will be more difficult to score off.
We will update our Dream11 team for Bangladesh vs India ICC World Cup 2019 after the toss on twitter. Make sure you follow @cricketbettings for all the latest updates.
Wicketkeeper: There are a lot of good options available in this category including MS Dhoni and Mushfiqur Rahim. We are not selecting them in the team for this match, though. Both of them bat in the middle order when scoring is going to be tougher and don’t necessarily have the power game to be able to clear the field consistently.
Rishab Pant is the only player we have selected from this category. Not only is he a dynamic player in the middle order but he also has a good record against Mustafizur Rahman.
Batsmen: Virat Kohli has five fifties in a row yet he must be feeling the pressure of not having converted those into centuries. It is not often then Virat Kohli goes too long without a century and we want him in our Dream11 team for sure. Rohit Sharma is also in very good form right now and picking him is an easy decision.
We have selected Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah from the Bangladesh team as well. Tamim is a senior player with a good record against India while Mahmudullah is perhaps the most important player for Bangladesh in the middle order. He is also very good against spin.
All-rounders: No Dream11 team can be complete without the inclusion of Shakib Al Hasa. He is as good as having two players and is currently both the highest run-scorer and wicket-taker for Bangladesh in the ICC World Cup 2019. Hardik Pandya is also emerging as a genuine all-rounder for India. He is bowling his ten overs in every match and is often sent up the order to get runs when needed.
Bowlers: We have space for four bowlers in our team. Mohammad Shami, Mustafizur Rahman, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz are the four names we like for this match. Shami has been picking wickets in every single game since his comeback while the other three will enjoy bowling on a pitch that offers help to the spinners.
Captain and Vice-Captain: We have selected Shakib Al Hasan as captain and Virat Kohli as vice-captain for this match.
India did not inspire much confidence with its performance in the previous match and Bangladesh is definitely going to sense an opportunity. We think putting a bet on Bangladesh to win will be a good idea for a risk taker especially if it wins the toss.
From a purely cricketing strength perspective, though, India should be able to win the match against Bangladesh on most days.
Bet on India to win.
