BAN vs IND Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Dec 04, 2022

BAN vs IND Match Prediction - Dec 04, 2022

Bangladesh will be hosting India three ODI's and two Tests starting on the 4th of December. This is an important series for a couple of reasons. India does not often tour Bangladesh despite the two countries being near neighbors. There is also a budding rivalry between Bangladesh and India with more than its share of bitterness.

The most recent match between Bangladesh and India in the T20 World Cup was also very close and there is hope among the spectators for a contest that is relatively close. India is the clear favorite heading into the first match especially since all of the senior players are back in action.

Bangladesh, though, is always tough to beat at home as well.

Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Bangladesh vs India 1st ODI 2022. The match will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka on the 4th of December 2022.

BAN vs IND Team Previews

Bangladesh

Bangladesh has won four out of its previous five ODI series including a 2-1 victory over South Africa (in South Africa) and a 3-0 win over West Indies. It also lost 2-1 to Zimbabwe while playing away from home. This inconsistency has come to define Bangladesh in some ways.

As a team, it has traditionally been better at ODI's than any other format. News has broken that Taskin Ahmed and Tamim Iqbal are not going to be available for selection for the first ODI at least and so a couple of newer players could get some chances.

With the 2023 World Cup in India, Bangladesh is going to be a real threat and will look to build its team from this series itself.

Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah are back for the ODI format. This adds experience and depth to the batting lineup but it also means there is a bit of sameness to the team. Afif Hossain, Yasir Ali, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz are younger more dynamic players that will hopefully be used with some boldness to disrupt the Indian bowling.

Mustafizur Rahman, Ebadot Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, and Hasan Mahmud should all be able to find a place in the playing eleven. The odds may suggest that Bangladesh is the overwhelming underdog but in home conditions, the Bangladeshi team can often outperform expectations.

India

India is coming into this ODI series after a disappointing performance against New Zealand. A young team failed to impress and only a few players managed to make the most of their chances. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Mohammad Shami are all back for this series.

India has been a bit too conservative in its batting approach but in the ODI format, that can matter a bit lesser. There is more time for the players to get set and then accelerate at the end. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are out of form and may not find runs hard to come just because the format has changed.

All eyes will be on Virat Kohli who has found his groove again. Can he continue to add to an already legendary ODI career? We think he can. Shreyas Iyer has done enough to warrant a place in the middle order so newcomers like Rahul Tripathi and Rajat Patidar may have to wait for their turn.

Rishab Pant will continue to get chances it appears since the team management refuses to look beyond him. Time is running out for the talented left-hander, though, and a break may actually be better for him.

Washington Sundar was one of the big pluses for India in the New Zealand series. He batted brilliantly and is a good spin-bowling option. Axar Patel, Mohammad Siraj, Mohammad Shami, and Kuldeep Sen are the bowlers we expect to see lineup in the first match.

Deepak Chahar could also get a chance to see if he can make early inroads with the new ball.

BAN vs IND Toss Prediction

The team that wins the toss is likely to want to bat first. There does not seem to be a massive difference between results for teams that bat first or chase and that indicates the pitch will remain flat for the entire duration of the match.

Pitch and Conditions

The conditions in Dhaka are absolutely clear. There is no threat of rain and we should have a completely uninterrupted match to enjoy. There is very little help for the bowlers at the Shere Bangla Stadium but the lack of pace can make run-scoring difficult.

The average score is just over 220 but with a change in playing styles, we think 280 is something that you should expect to see as par.

BAN vs IND Betting Tips

We think India should be able to win this match quite easily. It has reinforced its lineup with some experienced batting and the return of form for Virat Kohli is a big factor. Neither team has a particularly strong bowling lineup but spinners on both teams will pose tough questions.

The odds are a bit shorter than we like but India is till the team to bat. Look to add with in-play betting as the match is being played.

Bet on India to win.
