Bangladesh

Bangladesh bowled well to pick up regular wickets and could have actually kept India down to an even smaller total. Shakib Al Hasan ended up with five wickets, Ebadot with four, and all the bowlers were very economical. The pitch was slow and made run-scoring difficult but credit must be given to the Bangladeshi bowlers for making the most of the conditions. 

The batting effort by Bangladesh was not the best. They were 136 for 9 and basically out of the game. What Mehidy Hasan Miraz managed to do to win them the previous match is not something that can be repeated too often. 

It is clear that Bangladesh is going to be hard to beat. It has a decent bowling lineup which is well-suited for these conditions and its batting is average. Players like Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, Mustafizur Rahman, and Najmul Hossain Shanto can easily help Bangladesh pull off a series victory. 

India

India has picked a very strange squad for this series and it paid the price for that in the previous match. The team played with six bowlers and so Washington Sundar had to bat at number 6. That is one or even two positions too high for him. 

India did not have the batting depth to recover from early losses. Also, India played with four seamers in Bangladesh! That is certainly not ideal and shows the kind of fix the team finds itself in. 

We can hope for a few changes in the lineup but there are not too many options for India. Maybe bringing in an additional batter is the way to go but that would mean a lot more pressure on the bowling unit. India may be the favorite but it is by no means a vastly superior team to Bangladesh right now. 

The addition of Kuldeep Sen and Mohammad Siraj adds some pace to the lineup and maybe Umran Malik could get a game as well. The spin-bowling options are meagre and it appears as if the Indian selectors have taken Bangladesh lightly.
