The ICC World Cup 2019 is well and truly on its way now and teams are finding out that there are no easy wins in this edition of the cricket world cup. Every team is capable of beating the other team on its day and qualifying for the four semi-final spots is going to be tough.
Bangladesh started the World Cup 2019 with a massive win over South Africa. That was followed by a close loss against New Zealand and then a big loss against England. They are now going to face Sri Lanka, one of the weaker teams in this tournament.
Sri Lanka was blown away by New Zealand and then had to really struggle to win against Afghanistan. Rain ensured that Sri Lanka would get an important point against Pakistan, something that could prove to be important down the line.
Both the teams would be targeting this match as one they should win. Can Bangladesh continue its impressive performances and start notching up more victories or will Sri Lanka find a way to fight back?
Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka ICC World Cup 2019 match is going to be played at the County Ground, Bristol.
Some World Cup Schedules are harder than others and there is no doubt that Bangladesh had to face some tough teams in its first three matches at the ICC World Cup 2019. Now, Sri Lanka is the first team against which Bangladesh would go as the favorite to win.
Bangladesh has impressed everyone with their batting in the tournament so far. Shakib Al Hasan has led from the front and has hit five consecutive 50 plus scores this year. His elevation to the number three position in the batting order is an excellent move and sends a good signal to the team when a senior member steps forward to take more responsibility.
There are some holes in the batting performances. Tamim Iqbal has looked out of form and has struggled against genuine pace. Soumya Sarkar has also thrown away good opportunities and the middle order does not have the power that some of the other teams possess.
Against, Sri Lanka, we expect the Bangladeshi batsmen to do much better.
Sri Lanka does not have any express fast bowlers to trouble the Bangladeshis and there is no world class spinner in their ranks either.
The Bangladeshi bowling has also been pretty good so far. All the bowlers have been disciplined apart from Mashrafe Mortaza. His bowling does not have any threat to the opposition and we don’t think he would be in the team were he not the captain.
Someone line Rubel Hossain would be much more effective if he would be given the chance.
Bangladesh’s biggest threat is going to come from the Sri Lankan batting and this is why the performance of Mustafizur Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan, and Mohammad Saifuddin are going to be crucial.

Considered to be the weakest team in the CWC 2019 by many experts, Sri Lanka has a point to prove in this match. The rivalry between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka has become quite intense in recent times and the Islanders have come out second best on most occasions.
In contrast to the settled and experienced Bangladesh side, the Sri Lankan side ended up making a lot of changes just ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019. Also, their best players, Angelo Matthews, has been struggling to score runs and is hiding in the middle order rather than leading from the front.
Sri Lanka also has to deal with an injury to Nuwan Pradeep, their match-winner against Afghanistan.
Kusal Perera is the only Sri Lankan that has been having a good time in England so far. Hs batting has been very good and he is in terrific form. He scored 78 in the previous game, nearly half the runs of his entire side, and got them off to an excellent start.
Kusal Perera, Dimuth Karunaratne, and Lahiru Thirimanne are the players that need to score the bulk of the runs for Sri Lanka. We believe this side has the batting to be able to win matches. Kusal Mendis, Angelo Matthews, Dhananjaya de Silva, and Thisara Perera are not in good form but they are very talented players.
On a good day, the Sri Lankan batting is more than capable of outshining the Bangladeshi batsmen.
The Sri Lankan bowling is very weak, however. Lasith Malinga is a shadow of himself while Suranga Lakmal has struggled to have any impact whatsoever. There is no good spinner in the side and once the new ball is done with, the opposition can score runs against them at will.
The only way for Sri Lanka to win this match is going to be through a superior batting performance.

The team winning the toss is likely to want to bat second. There is a lot of rain around and DLS tends to favor the team that knows what target it has to achieve.

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka ICC World Cup 2019 match is going to be played at the County Ground, Bristol. Sri Lanka’s match against Pakistan had to be abandoned in Bristol and the weather forecast for the match against Bangladesh is not very good either.
There is a lot of rain forecast and we just have to hope for a gap long enough to be able to get some play. At best, a rain-affected and shortened match is going to be possible.
The Dream 11 team for Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka ICC World Cup 2019 must be made while keeping the weather conditions in mind. There is a very good chance that rain is going to take away the bulk of the overs if we get any cricket at all. This means that power hitters and all-rounders become very important towards getting a good points haul.
Wicketkeeper: A few good options are available in this category. Mushfiqur Rahi, Kusal Perera, and Kusal Mendis are all available in this category. Seeing the poor form of Kusal Mendis, we have decided not to pick him and just gone with the other two.
Kusal Perera is in superb rhythm and has been scoring runs in every match. He is also a powerful striker of the ball and can get the big hits if needed.
Batsmen: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Lahiru Thirimanne, and Dimuth Karunaratne are the four players we have selected for Dream11 team. All four of the batsmen are top-order batsmen and often open the inning as well.
In a match where the batsmen may just have a few overs to play, picking the top-order players is a smart choice. This is something to what we advise in T20 cricket also. Even if the rain does disappear and a longer match is possible, then these top-order players have the chance to bat for a longer time and score plenty of points.
All-rounders: Shakib Al Hasan is the best all-rounder in the world and is having a brilliant world cup. He is a must in any team whatever Dream11 predictions you might consider. We have picked Thisara Perera as our second all-rounder. Perera is a ferocious hitter of the cricket ball and that is something that could be useful in a rain-curtailed match.
Both these all-rounders have a good record against each other’s side as well.
Bowlers: Sri Lanka’s bowling options are very poor and Lasith Malinga is the only player that is really worth considering. However, he is also too expensive and not worth the points at which he is available. We have picked Suranga Lakmal in the side and are hoping he can pick some wickets up front.
Mohammad Saifuddin is listed as a bowler but is pretty good with the bat as well. He is in our side along with Mehidy Hasan Miraz, another bowler who is quite useful with the bat.
Captain and Vice-Captain: We have picked Soumya Sarkar as captain and Kusal Perera as vice-captain in this match.
The shorter the match, the more are the chances for a weak side to spring a surprise. The toss is going to be very important because the side batting second will have a huge advantage. No doubt that Bangladesh is the better team in this contest, however, we advise waiting for the toss to take place before placing your bets.
Sri Lanka’s batting is dangerous in a reduced over match and we think taking a chance on them would not be a bad idea.
Bet on Sri Lanka to win.
