Bangladesh won the first ODI against Zimbabwe very comfortably. The crushing won by 169 runs was more than anything that Bangladesh has inflicted on Zimbabwe in its history. The home team now has the opportunity to try and wrap up the series by winning the second ODI as well.
Zimbabwe is going through a tough time and even though some of its senior players have returned to fold, it is going to take a lot of time for the results to start going their way. Can Zimbabwe pull off an upset and actually take the series into the final game? The evidence so far suggests a herculean effort might be required.
Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 2nd ODI is going to be played at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet on the 3rd of March 2020.
Liton Das starred with the bat as he scored a responsible 120 and ensured that Bangladesh would get a good total on the board. He was helped by almost all the other batsmen that got a chance. All the top-7 batsmen in the previous match got a start and that meant Bangladesh never lost too many wickets in a hurry.
Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim would be happy that Bangladesh managed to get a good total without their contribution but would like to convert their own starts into something more substantial the next time around.
Mohammad Saifuddin showed his power game as he smashed three sixes in the previous match. He, Mohammad Mithun, and Mahmudullah are the three batsmen that Bangladesh can hope to develop into power-hitters in the long run.
Mohammad Saifuddin also starred with the ball as he picked up three wickets to lead the bowling attack. Mustafizur Rahman, Mehidy Hasan, and Mashrafe Mortaza were in the wickets. The Bangladeshi performance was complete in the first match and we don’t see any reason to make a change ahead of this next ODI.

The tour to Bangladesh has been a tough one for Zimbabwe as the side has struggled to be competitive for any sustained duration. It lost the test match by an inning and the first ODI was a complete disaster as well.
We don’t see any easy fixes for Zimbabwe in this match either.
The batting looks quite weak and seems to lack basic talent. Chamu Chibhabha, Brendan Taylor, and Sikandar Raza are the three batsmen that seem likely to be able to show some fight. Taylor has been in quite poor form for some time now and that is affecting the balance of the Zimbabwe side a lot.
Maybe promoting Sikandar Raza up the order could be something that the team management may choose to think about.
Overall, though, the Zimbabwe batting lineup is going to struggle and will not able to have the kind of impact that it needs to win.
A similar lack of depth in the bowling department plagues Zimbabwe as well. Chris Mpofu and Donal Triapno are the bowlers that are experienced enough to be able to adjust to the conditions. Sikandar Raza has also played a lot of cricket in this part of the world and has worked on his bowling in recent times.
It will take something very special and extraordinary for this Zimbabwe bowling attack to be able to stop the Bangladesh batting from making merry once more.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first.

The weather forecast for Sylhet is pretty good and we should not have any trouble with the rain. The pitch was pretty slow in the first match although it remained very flat. These are the kind of conditions that the Bangladeshi batsmen thrive in.
We don’t think there is going to be any change in the nature of the pitch for the second ODI either.
We have no hesitation in backing Bangladesh for a win in this match. They have been dominant over Zimbabwe and there is nothing to suggest that the equation is going to change.
Bet on Bangladesh to win.
