The final match of Zimbabwe’s tour of Bangladesh is about to be played and nothing has gone the visitors way so far. Out of all the matches played on this tour across formats, only one has been close. Bangladesh has used its home advantage pretty effectively and shown that it has separated itself from the lower run of teams in cricket.
Zimbabwe lost the opening T20 by 48 runs, a very big margin for the shortest format of the game, and would be keen to win this match to have something to show for from this tour. Bangladesh will not want to lift its foot off the pedal, though, as the T20 World Cup 2020 is around the corner.
Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 2nd T20 is going to be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka on the 11th of March 2020.
Liton Das is going through a real purple patch right now and seems to have elevated his game to another level. He ended up with 59 in the opening T20 and is going to be the biggest wicket in the upcoming match as well.
All of the Bangladeshi top-order batters were able to get some runs behind their names in the previous match. Tamim Iqbal scored 41, Soumya Sarkar scored 62 not out, and the middle-order got some quick runs as well.
Bangladesh has struggled to get its batting in order over the last few months and there is a lot of changing that is going around. The batting order they settled on during the previous match looks good and perhaps the strongest we have seen Bangladesh’s batting ever.
There is a decent amount of depth, a lot of experience, and even some decent hitting power with Mahmudullah, Atif Hossain, and Mohammad Saifuddin in the lineup.
Mustafizur Rahman and Aminul Islam took three wickets each, a very encouraging sign for Bangladesh as it depends very heavily on Mustafizur Rahman for its bowling strength. The other bowlers also contributed pretty nicely and kept the pressure up throughout the inning.
It is a shame that Shakib Al Hasan is not in the team right now because that would have made this excellent Bangladesh side truly a force to be reckoned with.
Mohammad Naim, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Mahedi Hasan, Afif Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mustafizur Rahman, Al-Amin Hossain, Hasan Mahmud.
Nothing that Zimbabwe has thrown at Bangladesh has worked and things are not looking for the African nation ahead of the T20 World Cup. We cannot help but think that Zimbabwe is going about its limited-overs cricket in the wrong manner.
Keeping your best batsmen for later shows a lack of confidence in the batting lineup. Players like Sean Williams and Sikandar Raza are capable of winning matches for Zimbabwe but they come so far down that they never really have the option of doing so.
Brendan Taylor is a good option at the top of the order but he is getting towards the end of his career as well.
There are not too many good young batsmen coming through Zimbabwe’s domestic system and that is a big concern.
The bowling is going to feature some of the well-known names from previous years. These are players that have accumulated a lot of experience playing international cricket but we are not too sure whether they have progressed in the manner that Zimbabwe would have liked them to.
Chris Mpofu, Donal Tripano, Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams, and Carl Mumba form a decent bowling attack. These are not bowlers that are going to run through sides but they can hold up the runs through some consistent bowling.
In conditions that Bangladesh is so comfortable in, though, we find it hard to see the Zimbabwe bowling attack having a real impact on the upcoming match.
TS Kamunhukamwe, Brandon Taylor, Craig Ervine, Wesley Madhevere, Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Richmond Mutumbami, CT Mutombodzi, Carl Mumba, C Mpofu, Charlton Tshuma.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first.

A clear day with no chance of rain has been forecast in Dhaka on match day. There is nothing to suggest that the players are going to have to worry about the weather at all.
The pitch at the Shere Bangla Stadium was pretty good for batting in the first match. Zimbabwe was not able to make the most of it but the home team showed just how quickly runs could be scored on it.
We could see another score close to 200 being scored if Bangladesh bats first.
Dream11 tips and Dream11 prediction for Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 2nd T20 2020
Bangladesh has been dominant against Zimbabwe and it is difficult to see them slip up in this final match. There is a lot more depth in the Bangladesh side so multiple players can pick up the slack even if some of the seasoned ones fail.
Bet on Bangladesh to win.
