About the Match
The Bulls registered their 2nd consecutive victory of the season defeating Raj Kings by 4 runs after defending a massive total of 192; they are placed 3rd on the table with 4 points and will now take on Vikings, who are placed at 6th place with zero points, on 14th November at Dhaka. The Vikings they have been on a slippery slope, losing two straight matches against Titans and Riders; they will be eager to make a comeback here. The Bulls, on the other hand, are on a winning juggernaut and it’ll be difficult to stop them from progressing ahead on the table.
The in-form wicket-keeper batsman, Mushfiqur Rahim led the team from the front as he posted a brilliant 81 off 52 while batting first against Kings; he got good support from Shahriar Nafees, who continued with his good skills as he scored 63 from 44 to help them post a gigantic 192.
Fast-bowler Al-Amin Hossain defended the total by taking 3-35 while pacemen Abu Hider and Emrit took a wicket each to stifle the opponents. The team has done well with both bat and ball, and they definitely look good to come out victorious again.
In the match against Victorians previously, the fast-bowlers combined well to take regular wickets and restrict the opposition to 129 runs; Perera and Emrit bowled economically giving away just 5 runs per over and taking a wicket each while Abu Hider dismissed two batsmen in a ruthless display of his left-arm pace skills. Rahim, Perera, and Dawid Malan then got the scoreboard ticking and helped win the match by 6 wickets. They have been unstoppable whether batting first or during the chase, and can prove to be a tough challenge to the Vikings on Monday.
They have lost two matches in a row and although the morale of the players could be down, they do have the determination to perform better here and bounce back to the race. In the match against Titans, all-rounder spinner Mohammad Nabi and fast bowler Taskin Ahmed were brilliant as they took 5 wickets between them to restrict the opponents to a lowly 127; however, the openers failed to fire again as Tamim Iqbal and Smith were dismissed before the 6th over, and from thereon it was a total batting line-up collapse.
Nabi fought hard to get the runs flowing with a well-made 39 while Jahurul Islam and PC de Silva tried to contribute but they lost the contest of nerves against an in-form Mahmudullah. Against Riders in the last game, the batsmen put up a dismal show being able to muster only 124 runs and getting all-out; the bowlers also put up a lackluster performance, with only Mills taking one wicket, and couldn’t stop the opponents from winning.
They have many talented players like Nabi, Ahmed, Tamim Iqbal, Smith and Shoaib Malik, who can try to put their best foot forward here.
The Vikings have been on a low ever since winning their opening game; they just need to strategize better and execute well on the field; on the other hand, the Bulls are on a winning momentum and with the in-form batting line-up, they look better placed to win this contest
