About the Match
The Bulls with 6 points on the board are placed 4th on the table and will go up against Titans, who are in the third place with 8 points, on 20th November at Chittagong. Titans won the game against Dynamites by 9 runs recently and are pumped up about their chances here to go up the table; on the other hand, the Bulls suffered defeat at the hands of Riders by 12 runs, and they will be eager to make amends with a win here. It needs to be seen which side can cleverly use their resources to thwart the tactics of the opposition and emerge victorious on Sunday.
The bowlers put up a dismal performance against Riders in the last game with speedsters like Al-Amin Hossain, Abu Hider and Kamrul Islam Rabbi proving to be too expensive. Perera took 2-31 while Taijul Islam continued on his good show with the ball by claiming 2-27; however, they ended up facing a stiff target of 175 runs, which the batsmen fell short of achieving.
Rahim, who has been in tremendous form with the bat, couldn’t come out all guns blazing and was dismissed for just 8 runs. Mendis scored a superb 57 while Nadif Chowdhury posted a quick fire 41 from 25 deliveries, but the others failed to keep the tempo going, and lost the match by 12 runs.
In the match against Vikings, Malan and Nafees posted a brilliant 150-run stand for the 2nd wicket, with Malan top-scoring 78 off 48. Nafees scored 65 and is a strong middle-order batsman with others like Rahim and Chowdhury. They have a good bowling attack that can stifle the opposition here, and with hard-hitters, the Bulls can dominate against the Titans.
Mahmudullah, who had excelled with the ball till now in the league and hadn’t got many runs with the bat, finally returned to form by scoring a well-made 62 off 44 against Dynamites to take the total to 157. He was well-supported by all-rounders Shuvagata Hom and Taibur Rahman, who scored 20+ runs each. Fletcher started the innings well with a 20 off 16 while Nicholas Pooran stabilised the innings in the middle. The bowlers then kept their nerves together to demolish the opposition and win the match by a close 9 runs.
Spinner Mosharraf Hossain took 3-31 while speedsters Safiul Islam and Cooper took 4 wickets between them; Junaid Khan and Taibur Rahman bowled economically and they have sharp skills to outwit the opponents again.
In the match against Victorians, pacers Junaid Khan and Safiul Islam took 2 wickets each to help defend 144 set by the batsmen; Copper and Mosharraf Hossain contained the run-flow and also took a wicket each, to win the match by 13 runs. They have been on a winning spree and can prove to be a tough unit to crack by the Bulls here.
While the Titans batsmen haven’t yet built a challenging total batting first, they have successfully defended totals thanks to a superb bowling effort; the Bulls, on the other hand, suffered a loss recently and might be down on morale. The result could swing either way but we feel that the Titans with their winning attitude are clear favourites to win the match on Sunday
