About the Match
One couldn't have imagined a start to a tournament more unfortunate than this. Four matches have gone so far and all have been washed out. These are early days and there's still a lot of cricket left in the tournament. Khulna Titans play against Barisal Bulls in what will be the sixth match of the tournament in Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium Dhaka. The match is scheduled to be played on 6th November 2016 at 7:00pm local time. Though the chances of rain are lower than previous two days, they are still pretty high and play is likely to be intervened by rain here as well. The first match of both the teams was washed out by rain and they'll be looking out to play and grab the two important points.
Led by Mushfiqur Rahim with experienced players like Shahriar Nafees and Al-Amin Hossain available at disposal, this team can strike big with the exuberance of Carlos Brathwaite and Mohammad Nawaz. The overseas players in the squad are Rumman Raees, Dilshan Munaweera and Joshua Cobb who are extremely skilled can win the game on their own on any given day.
Taijul Islam has bowled well for Bangladesh and he'd play a key role in Barisal's campaign ahead. He will be supported by Abu Hider who made international debut for Bangladesh in 2016. Barisal Bulls are full of local talent and they were the runners-up in last year's edition and if they are able to deliver as per their potential, they could go a fair distance in the tournament.
Khulna Titans are making a return to Bangladesh Premier League albeit under different ownership after being missing for a couple of years. Coached by Stuart Law, Khulna Titans are one of the most exciting teams of the tournament. With energetic players like Kevon Cooper and Lendl Simmons and Ben Laughlin, energy and flair are sure to be seen on the field. Mahmudullah will lead the side and he would like to help the team roping in experience from his newly defined finisher's role for Bangladesh.
Khulna Titans seem to be pretty balanced with batting stalwarts in T20 like Lendl Simmons, Andre Fletcher, skipper himself and bowlers like Ben Laughlin, Junaid Khan, and Mohammad Asghar. Youngster Hasanuzzaman impressed one and all in Dhaka Premier League and a few other domestic competitions and will be looking to perform on the big stage as well. All in all, Khulna is a team full of talent which is well complemented by experience. This new-look side can give any team a run for their money on their day.
It has been pretty disappointing for the fans as well as for the players as they are yet to see any action on the field. While the chances of rain are pretty much there, they are less than it was on the previous two days. The encounter between these two sides promises to be a thriller of a game. With a better much better combination of batting and bowling, Khulna Titans look better placed to win this game
