Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes are right next to each other on the BBL League table with almost exactly the same record so far in BBL 09. Both the teams have played six matches, won three out of them, and are only separated by net run-rate. The team that wins this contest could move up to third or fourth on the league table depending upon how the other results go.
Brisbane Heat is one of those teams that does not enjoy playing at home for some odd reason. Its record at the Gabba is pretty poor and the team would be hoping to change things around. Both the teams are coming into this match with impressive wins in their previous match and will be full of confidence.
There are also going to be some squad changes now that Australia’s test players are available for BBL selection once more while the ODI players will be called up for duty.
Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes BBL 09 is going to be played at the Gabba, Brisbane on the 9th of January 2020.
If you had any doubts about the strength of the Brisbane heat batting then they would have been dispelled in the previous match. Tom Banton smashed the second-fastest BBL fifty of all time while Chris Lynn, Ben Cutting, and Max Bryant all scored at a quick run-rate. In fact, the only batsman to miss out was Matt Renshaw and has also been in very good touch during BBL 09.
Brisbane Heat has now won three out of its four matches and things seem to be coming together nicely.
Also, as if the batting strength at Brisbane Heat’s disposal was not strong enough, they are now going to add Joe Burns to the squad as well.
Burns has been scoring runs at the international level in a prolific manner and is in very good form. How he fits into this lineup is another question, though. At this point, Jack Prestwidge seems the most vulnerable with Ben Cutting stepping in to fill in with the ball along with help from Matt Renshaw.
Brisbane Heat’s bowling is also in decent form. Zahir Khan has added a lot of quality to the bowling with his wrist-spin and is an ideal partner for Mitchell Swepson. Matt Renshaw, Ben Cutting, Josh Lalor, and Ben Laughlin provide more than enough bowling options to the skipper.
Tom Banton, Max Bryant, Chris Lynn, Matt Renshaw, Joe Burns , Jimmy Peirson, Ben Cutting, Josh Lalor, Mitchell Swepson, Ben Laughlin, Zahir Khan.
The Hobart Hurricanes won the previous match thanks to a brilliant century from Darcy Short. The bad news for the Hurricanes fans is that Darcy Short is not going to be available for the next few matches as he joins Australia’s ODI squad to India.
Matthew Wade will be back in time for this match and take Short’s place at the top of the order. While having Wade back is going to be a big plus, we don’t see him filling Darcy Short’s shoes in terms of consistency or his ability to get big scores.
The Hobart Hurricanes now need their other batsmen like Caleb Jewell, David Miller, Ben McDermott, and George Bailey to just step things up a notch.
The batting still looks quite decent although not as strong as when Darcy Short is available for selection.
The Hobart Hurricanes have also been performing very well as a bowling unit. Riley Meredith is the bowler of the tournament so far for us. He has bowled with fierce pace and is able to pick wickets at crucial times. Nathan Ellis, Qais Ahmed, and Scott Boland are all very decent bowlers that will ask some tough questions from the Brisbane Heat batting lineup.
The Gabba is a very good batting pitch on most days and the onus is going to fall on the spinners to be able to pull things back if the fast bowlers don’t get the early wickets. This is why we think that Clive Rose could be recalled for this next game as well.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first

The weather forecast for Brisbane is quite good for cricket. There is very little chance of rain predicted and the temperatures should be quite comfortable to play in. The pitch at the Gabba is one of the best for batting in the entire Big Bash. It appears as if sometimes Brisbane Heat tries to go too hard and ends up losing its way while playing home.
The Hobart Hurricanes will definitely be hoping for something similar this time around.
A total of 180 appears to be the least that teams will be aiming for batting first.
Dream11 tips and Dream11 prediction for Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes. There are some important changes in the player availability for this match which should be taken into consideration. The absence of someone like darcy Short is not only going to affect the overall strength of the Hobart Hurricanes but change the batting order around and could provide point-scoring opportunities to other players.
The surface at the Gabba is one that favors the batsmen. We think hard-hitting batters and all-rounders are the way to go. In the bowling department, bowlers with serious pace or wrist-spinners are the one that are likely to do well.
These two teams have played out some very close encounters in the past. Even their most recent match was a very high-scoring one where over 400 runs were scored. The loss of Darcy Short is a very big one for the Hobart Hurricanes, though, and this is why we cannot justify backing them in this match.
The addition of Joe Burns is also a very good one for Brisbane Heat.
