BH vs HBH Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Jan 20, 2023
The season is fading quickly for the seventh-placed Heat, but the team has rallied well with two wins in a row. The Hurricanes look decent, but will need to fight hard to jump a spot in the standings, as they sit in fifth right now. The team lost recently to the Scorchers, but that’s not the worst defeat.
BH vs HBH Team Previews
Brisbane Heat
While it’s true that Jimmy Peirson is the team’s leading scorer with 224 runs (ignoring Munro with 278 because he’s left the squad), there’s a lot of focus on Matt Renshaw. The talented up-and-comer batter hasn’t played much BBL because of other cricket commitments, but he already has 182 runs thanks to a massive 90* in a win against the Stars.
Michael Neser has been solid for the squad with 15 wickets, but even though he did get 4/25 versus Melbourne, he’s not always so reliable and the Heat’s bowling overall has been pretty average this season. Mark Steketee is mysteriously in and out of the line-up, which makes betting on him pretty difficult.
Brisbane Heat Playing 11
Usman Khawaja, Josh Brown, Marnus Labuschagne, Matt Renshaw, Sam Hain, Jimmy Peirson, James Bazley, Michael Neser, Spencer Johnson, Mitchell Swepson, Matthew Kuhnemann.
Hobart Hurricanes
The Hurricanes had a bit of a shocker against Perth, with the usually reliable Tim David only picking up 20 runs, and the odd sight of McDermott, Jewell, and Wade combining for 15 runs!
David’s batting style means he’s either scoring huge or out for very little, but such is the risk with T20 cricket. He’s scored 282 runs this season and is rapidly turning into the star batter for Hobart. Jewell and Wade really need to step up and give David some help if Hobart has any chance of reaching the post-season.
The biggest plus for the Hurricane is the fantastic bowling of Riley Meredith (17 total wickets), who has earned two wickets in each of his last three matches. He’s helping Hobart stay in games and making things tough for opposing batsmen.
Hobart Hurricanes Playing 11
Ben McDermott, Caleb Jewell, Zak Crawley, Matthew Wade, Timothy David, D'Arcy Short, Mitchell Owen, Faheem Ashraf, Joel Paris, Nathan Ellis, Riley Meredith.
BH vs HBH Toss Prediction
Hobart should certainly look to bat first and try to make things tough for the Heat in the chase.

Pitch and Conditions
The pitch here is often very flat, which batters enjoy, so expect a big total here from each side. Pace bowlers can get lucky, so watch out for Meredith.
BH vs HBH Betting Tips
The Heat have looked better lately with Renshaw and Neser playing well, but we still think the Hurricanes are the ones to win here. The odds suggest that betting on Brisbane will get you more in return, but Hobart has so much more to play for and their batting/bowling line-ups are far stronger.
Bet on Hobart to win.
